Amado, não imite o que é mau, mas sim o que é bom. Aquele que
faz o bem é de Deus; aquele que faz o mal não viu a Deus (3 João 11).

Certo dia, me peguei analisando os comportamentos das pessoas e pensei: “Como olhamos as
atitudes das pessoas à nossa volta!” Infelizmente estamos o tempo todo olhando
o que as pessoas fazem e julgando os seus atos. Pode até ser meio pesado usar o
verbo julgar, mas muitas vezes é isso que fazemos, ainda que de forma
inconsciente. Existe outro fato, e creio que seja o que realmente pesa:
frequentemente imitamos os atos das pessoas, não pesando se são bons, se passam
pelo crivo da vontade de Deus, ou se são maus, contra a sua vontade.
O livro de
3 João é uma carta. Quando João a escreveu a Gaio, orientou-o a imitar o que é
bom. Havia pessoas que faziam coisas boas e que deveriam ser imitadas. Um
exemplo era Demétrio (verso 12), de quem todos falavam bem. João diz que a
própria verdade testemunhava a seu favor. Um exemplo bom a ser seguido! João
também relatou um exemplo negativo, o de Diótrefes (verso 9), que queria ser o
mais importante do grupo e espalhava palavras maldosas, entre outras coisas. Um
exemplo mau, que não deveria ser seguido!
É muito
fácil imitar o que as pessoas fazem. Muitas vezes fazemos as coisas com a
atitude errada em nosso coração, imitando o que não é bom diante de Deus.
Muitas pessoas fazem as coisas erradas embasadas no erro dos outros, dizendo:
“Se fulano faz, eu também posso!” Um erro fatal.
Que nossa
atitude não dependa daquilo que os outros fazem, mas daquilo que é bom diante
de Deus! Porque “cada um de nós prestará contas de si mesmo a Deus” (Romanos
14.12).

One
day, I found myself analyzing people's behaviors
and thought: "As we look at the attitudes of people around us."
Unfortunately we are all the time looking at what people do and judging their
actions. It may even be a little heavy use the word judge, but often that's
what we do, even if unconsciously. There is another fact, and I think that is
what really weighs: often mimic the acts of individuals, not weighing if
they're good enough, if you go through the sieve of the will of God, or if you
are evil, against their will.
The
book of 3 John is a letter. When John wrote the Blue Jay, guided him to imitate
what is good. There were people who did good things and should be imitated. An
example was Demetrius (verse 12), who all spoke well. John says that the truth
would testify on his behalf. A good example to be followed. John also reported
a negative example, the Diotrephes (verse 9), who wanted to be the most
important of the Group and were spreading nasty words, among other things. A
bad example which shouldn't be followed.
It's
very easy to imitate what people do. Many times we do things with the wrong
attitude in our heart, which is not good in the sight of God. Many people do
the wrong things based on the error of others, saying: "If so-and-so does,
so can I!" A fatal error.
Our
attitude depends on what others do, but of what is good in the sight of God!
Because "each of us accountable to himself to God" (Romans 14.12).
