O título desta mensagem
está afixado em muitos lugares hoje em dia, e Deus é fiel aos seus mandamentos
e às suas promessas. É fácil esquecer que a fidelidade divina inclui a punição
dos que desobedecem aos seus mandamentos.
A prostituta Raabe foi
salva numa clara demonstração da fidelidade de Deus aos que nele confiam. A
Bíblia traz vários relatos semelhantes sobre a atuação de Jesus, como p.ex. o
da mulher siro-fenícia que pediu a cura de sua filha (Marcos 7.24ss), o do
centurião que pediu por seu escravo (Mateus 8.5ss), o do pai que pediu a cura
do filho dominado por demônios (Mateus 17.14ss), o malfeitor que estava ao seu
lado na cruz e pediu salvação (Lucas 23.39ss). Todos foram atendidos. Isso
prova como Cristo estava concorde com o Pai. A demonstração de fé da prostituta
Raabe não significa que Deus aprova a prostituição, mas que ele responde àquele
que tem fé apesar de suas imperfeições. Ela foi deixada num local fora do
