Vendo a coragem de Pedro e João, e percebendo
que eram homens comuns e sem instrução, ficaram admirados e reconheceram que
eles haviam estado com Jesus (Atos 4.13).

Nas manhãs de domingo,
temos em minha igreja um momento devocional em que todos podemos contar algo
edificante que aconteceu conosco; falar de algum texto bíblico que talvez foi
essencial para nos acalmar, fortalecer ou incentivar. Gosto de ouvir as
pessoas. Há pouco conversamos sobre a importância de ler a Bíblia e de como ela
pode ser uma grande companheira. Muitos falaram de como essa Palavra de Deus
atuou em suas vidas. Na minha vez relembrei várias Bíblias que passaram pela
minha mão. Havia uma dourada, ilustrada, brinde de uma enciclopédia. Lembro da
primeira que ganhei e que esqueci em um táxi (chorei, mas – pensei – espero que
o motorista encontre Jesus nela). Você se recorda de sua primeira Bíblia? Quem
lhe deu? Onde está ela?
Essa semana, arrumando
meus livros, abri uma das minhas Bíblias mais antigas. Lá estavam anotados
estudos, passagens relevantes, tristezas, dúvidas, até brigas com Deus. Foi
sublime poder recordar o porquê da paixão pela Palavra de Deus. Ler pela
primeira vez o livro de Atos para escrever um estudo a respeito fez toda
diferença em minha vida cristã e profissional. Que homens eram aqueles simples
pescadores que transformaram o mundo pelo Espírito de Deus e engrandeceram seu
reino? Que perfeição a dádiva do Espírito Santo sem distinção de sexo, idade,
posição social ou povo! Foi por esse poder que o evangelho chegou até você.
Nada o impediu: naufrágio, perseguição, morte, prisão, fome. Continua até hoje
chegando a tantos lugares! Quando fui escolher o meu versículo preferido, não
achei nenhum porque são muitos! Toda a Palavra me vivifica e me anima a falar
de Jesus como Senhor e Salvador. Muitas vezes é difícil, mas a cada dia o
Senhor mostrou que compartilhar o que Deus faz em nossas vidas sempre é bênção.

On
Sunday mornings, we have in my church a devotional moment in which we can all
tell something uplifting that happened to us; talk about some biblical text
that maybe it was essential to calm us down, strengthen or encourage. I like
hearing people. Earlier we talked about the importance of reading the Bible and
how it can be a great companion. Many spoke of how this word of God appeared in
their lives. In my time I pointed out several Bibles that have passed through
my hands. There was a golden, illustrated, toast of an encyclopedia. I remember
the first one I got and I forgot in a taxi (cried, but – I thought – I hope the
driver find Jesus in it). Do you recall your first Bible? Who gave you? Where
is she?
This
week, packing up my books, I opened one of my Bibles. There were noted studies,
relevant passages, sadness, doubt, until quarrels with God. It was sublime
power recall why the passion for the word of God. Read the book of acts to
write a study about made all the difference in my Christian life and
professional. That men were those simple fishermen who have transformed the
world by the spirit of God and made her great your Kingdom? Perfection the gift
of the Holy Spirit without distinction of sex, age, social position or people!
That is power that the Gospel came to you. Nothing stopped you: shipwreck,
persecution, death, prison, hunger. Continues today coming to so many places!
When I went to pick my favorite verse, I couldn't find any because they are
many! Whole Word animates me and cheers me up talking about Jesus as Lord and
Savior. It is often difficult, but every day the Lord showed to share what God
is doing in our lives is always blessing.
