Proteção

O profeta [Eliseu] respondeu: “Não tenha medo.
Aqueles que estão conosco são mais numerosos do que eles” (2 Reis 6.16).

Guerras são sempre
terríveis, e em qualquer contexto podem trazer pavor ao coração até mesmo dos
soldados mais experientes. O texto de hoje mostra o rei da Síria tentando
atacar o povo de Israel e os avisos antecipados que o profeta Eliseu enviava
para o rei de Israel a fim de protegê-los deste inimigo. Isso não aconteceu
apenas em uma ou duas ocasiões, mas “repetidas vezes”. O mal-estar foi tão
forte na corte síria que o rei chegou a imaginar que um traidor estava
revelando seus planos ao oponente. Mas seus soldados lhe contaram que Eliseu
era responsável por estes “vazamentos” e que era capaz de descobrir até mesmo o
que o rei da Síria falava dentro do seu quarto.
Não importa qual seja a
dificuldade, o ser humano sempre busca proteção. E quando um cristão a recebe
de seu Deus, quem não conhece o Senhor pode se sentir como o rei da Síria, ou
seja, confuso e desconfiado (verso 11). A proteção de Deus para o povo de
Israel foi grandiosa: todo o exército inimigo ficou cego, mas o profeta e seu
servo viram além das aparências. Eliseu conhecia o poder do Senhor, e por isso
não se desesperou com as circunstâncias. Quem se sabe protegido por Deus não
precisa usar sua própria força ou inteligência, mas consegue até ser generoso
com seu adversário. Eliseu teve a oportunidade de mandar arrasar o exército
inimigo, mas sua atitude de alimentar estes soldados e depois dispensá-los
resultou em paz.
Como você reage quando
precisa da proteção de Deus? Consegue confiar apesar das aparências, como
Eliseu? Não importa a dificuldade, é necessário ser fiel, pois Deus pode nos
proteger em situações aparentemente impossíveis de serem vencidas. Podemos e
devemos confiar nele para ver além das aparências, pois quem conta com a
proteção de Deus estará sempre seguro, por mais adversas que sejam as
circunstâncias (veja o versículo em destaque).

Protection

Wars
are always terrible, and in any context can bring terror to the heart of even
the most experienced soldiers. The text today shows the King of Syria trying to
attack the people of Israel and early warnings that the Prophet Elisha sent to
the King of Israel in order to protect them from the enemy. It didn't happen
just on one or two occasions, but "repeatedly". The malaise was so
strong at Court Syria that King came to imagine that a traitor was revealing
his plans to the opponent. But his soldiers told her that Elisha was
responsible for these "leaks" and I was able to discover even the
King of Syria spoke inside your room.
No
matter what the difficulties, the human being always seeks protection. And when
a Christian to receive from your God, who does not know the Lord can feel like
the King of Syria, that is, confused and suspicious (verse 11). The protection
of God to the people of Israel was big: the entire enemy army went blind, but
the Prophet and your servant saw beyond the appearances. Elisha knew the power
of the Lord, and so don't be despaired with the circumstances. Who know God
protected do not need to use your own strength or intelligence, but manages to
be generous with your opponent. Elisha had the opportunity to send tear down
the enemy army, but your attitude to feed these soldiers and then dismiss them
resulted in peace.
How
do you react when you need the protection of God? Can be trusted despite
appearances, like Elisha? No matter the difficulty, it is necessary to be
faithful, because God can protect us in seemingly impossible situations to be
won. We can and should trust him to see beyond appearances, because who has the
protection of God will always be safe, no matter how adverse the circumstances
(see the verse highlighted).
