Prestar Contas

Leitura bíblica: Eclesiastes 11.7-10

Alegre-se, jovem, na sua mocidade! Seja feliz o seu coração nos dias da sua juventude! Siga por onde o seu coração mandar, até onde sua vista alcançar; mas saiba que por todas essas coisas Deus o trará a julgamento (Eclesiastes 11.9).

Datas comemorativas movimentam o comércio. Pessoas saem às compras com a intenção de presentear familiares e amigos. Compras parceladas facilitam a vida daqueles que não dispõem de recursos financeiros para a compra à vista. O cartão de crédito é em especial tentador: é só escolher, passar o cartão, digitar a senha e pronto. Você pode ir para casa com muitas coisas. Contudo, a alegria dura muitas vezes só até o dia do vencimento do cartão. De repente, lá está a fatura em um valor que você não tem condições de pagar. Assim você resolve pagar o mínimo, mas no próximo mês você percebe que a conta praticamente não diminuiu, foram atribuídos os juros e você se encontra em dificuldades ainda maiores. Por isso, ao comprar algo é muito importante ter consciência de que em algum momento você precisará pagar essa conta.

Com nossa vida não é diferente. Podemos viver da maneira que achamos melhor. A decisão é nossa. Contudo, semelhante ao cartão de crédito, chegará o momento em que iremos prestar contas de tudo o que fizemos. No livro de Apocalipse João escreve: “Vi também os mortos, grandes e pequenos, em pé diante do trono, e livros foram abertos. Outro livro foi aberto, o livro da vida. Os mortos foram julgados de acordo com o que tinham feito, segundo o que estava registrado nos livros” (20.12). Paulo escreve aos coríntios: “Pois todos nós devemos comparecer perante o tribunal de Cristo, para que cada um receba de acordo com as obras praticadas por meio do corpo, quer sejam boas quer sejam más” (2 Coríntios 5.10). Por isso, viver em obediência à palavra de Deus é a decisão mais sábia para não nos arrependermos depois.

Só há uma maneira de escapar da condenação no dia do julgamento: crer naquele que morreu para pagar nossa conta, Jesus Cristo.

Reading biblical: Ecclesiastes 11.7-10

Cheer up, young man, in your youth! Be happy your heart in the days of your youth! Follow your heart tells you where, as far as your vista reach; but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment (Ecclesiastes 11.9).

Commemorative dates move the trade. People go out shopping with the intention of giving family and friends. Purchases splitted facilitate life from those who do not have the financial resources to purchase in sight. The credit card is particularly tempting: you name it, run the card, enter the password and you're done. You can go home with a lot of things. However, the joy lasts many times till the maturity date of the card. Suddenly, there is the Bill in a value that you can't afford to pay. So you pay the minimum, but you realize that next month the Bill hardly decreased, were assigned the interest and you find yourself in even greater difficulties. So, when buying something is very important to be aware that at some point you will need to pay this account.

With our life is no different. We can live the way we think best. The decision is ours. However, similar to a credit card, there will come a time when we will give an account of everything we've done. In the book of revelation John writes: "I saw the dead, small and great, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done, according to what was registered in the books "(20.12). Paul writes to the Corinthians: "for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive according to the works carried out through the body, whether good or evil" (2 Corinthians 5.10). So, live in obedience to the word of God is the wisest decision not to repent later.

There's only one way to escape the condemnation in the day of judgment: believing that he died to pay our Bill, Jesus Christ.
