O orgulho vem antes da destruição; o espírito
altivo, antes da queda (Provérbios 16.18).

Um sapo tinha um grande
problema. Sua lagoa estava secando. Se ele não encontrasse água rápido, ele
mesmo iria secar também. Aí ouviu falar de um riacho que ficava logo depois da
montanha mais próxima. Se pelo menos pudesse viver lá… mas como poderia? As
pernas curtas de um sapo não foram feitas para longas jornadas. Mas então teve
uma ideia. Convencendo dois pássaros a carregarem, cada um, a ponta de um
graveto, ele mordeu o centro do graveto e se segurou. Enquanto eles voavam em
direção à água, sua mandíbula segurava firme. Em terra, uma vaca que estava em
um pasto viu aquela cena inusitada. Impressionada, ela pensou alto: “Quem foi
que teve essa ideia?” O sapo ouviu a pergunta e não pôde resistir a responder:
“Eu tiiiiii…”
Estamos propensos a
cometer o mesmo erro do sapo. Muitas vezes temos uma preocupação tão grande em
mostrar o quanto somos importantes que assumimos uma postura de superioridade.
Queremos mostrar como temos ideias maravilhosas e soluções para os problemas, e
assim pecamos agindo de forma orgulhosa. O alerta vem de Provérbios 16 e diz
que agir com orgulho é caminho para a destruição. Deixar-se tomar pela vaidade
é como calçar um salto tão alto que nos levará a cair. É um grande perigo, um
grande mal, um pecado (Provérbios 21.4).
A
Bíblia ensina a não fazer nada por orgulho ou vaidade. Ninguém deve se
considerar superior a outra pessoa. Nossas atitudes não devem visar apenas o
interesse próprio, mas também refletir uma preocupação com o próximo. Para
viver de forma humilde precisamos tomar como exemplo a vida de Cristo, que
mesmo sendo Deus viveu a vida comum de um ser humano. Ele foi humilde até a
morte na cruz.
Quem anda em vaidade
caminha para o abismo. Quem anda em humildade, no tempo certo será
recompensado. Jesus foi elevado à mais alta posição. Os humildes de espírito
herdarão o reino dos céus.

frog had a big problem. Your pond was drying. If he doesn't find water fast, he

If only I could live there ... but how could it? The short legs of a frog are
not meant for long journeys. But then he had an idea. Convincing two birds to

frog heard the question and could not resist responding: "I haaaa."
We
are likely to make the same mistake of the frog. We often have a concern so
great in showing how important we are to assume a posture of superiority. We
want to show how we have wonderful ideas and solutions to problems, and thus
Sin acting proud. The alert comes from Proverbs 16 and says that act with
pride's path to destruction. Let yourself be taken by vanity is like wearing a
jump so high that will take us to fall. It's a great danger, a great evil, a
sin (Proverbs 21.4).
The Bible teaches the do nothing by pride or
vanity. No one should consider yourself superior to another person. Our
attitudes should not target only self-interest, but also reflect a concern for
the next. To live so humble need to take as an example the life of Christ, that
even though God lived the ordinary life of a human being. He was humble to the
death on the cross.
Who
walks in vanity walks into the abyss. Who walk in humility, in time will be
rewarded. Jesus was raised to the highest position. The humble in spirit will
inherit the Kingdom of heaven.
