Leitura Bíblica: Números 14:20-32

Nenhum de vocês entrará na terra que… jurei dar-lhes para sua habitação (Números 14:30).

 

O ser humano nunca se satisfaz com o que tem, com o que Deus lhe dá a cada manhã – a renovação da vida, da saúde, do alimento, do trabalho, do ar que respiramos, do sol para nos aquecermos, da noite para que tenhamos o frescor que alivia o calor do dia.

Deus faz tudo no seu devido tempo, mas nós vivemos a nos queixar e a resmungar.

Assim ocorreu com o povo hebreu depois que foi libertado do Egito sob a liderança de Moisés e a inspiração do Deus todo poderoso e abençoador. Reclamaram das águas amargas e o Senhor orientou Moisés a jogar um galho duma árvore sobre as águas, tornando-as doces. Queixaram-se de fome e o Senhor lhes enviava, pela manhã, o pão (maná) e à tarde carne (codornizes). O povo chegou a rebelar-se contra Moisés pela falta de quem ou o que adorar, e Arão recolheu suas joias, fez delas um bezerro de ouro e edificou-lhe um altar, o que acendeu o furor de Deus contra eles (Êxodo 32:1-10). E assim o povo foi reclamando a cada passo e Deus, que é fiel, providenciava-lhes recursos para suas necessidades no seu devido tempo. Finalmente Deus castigou todos os rebeldes pela sua constante oposição a Ele, não deixando que entrassem na terra prometida, Canaã. Entraram apenas Josué e Calebe, que foram fiéis todo o tempo, agradando ao Senhor.

Mas essa palavra não é apenas para o povo hebreu, no Antigo Testamento: em I Coríntios 10:1-13, Deus alerta também a nós por meio dela, explanando o passado e chamando a atenção sobre o presente com as nossas reclamações e insatisfações. “Não se queixem”, diz Deus ali por intermédio de Paulo, e completa dizendo que isso ocorreu e foi escrito “como advertência para nós” (versículo 11). Devemos, pois, ficar atentos, fiéis e contentes, pois o alerta se completa dizendo: “Aquele que julga estar firme, cuide-se para que não caia” (versículo 12). – ETA

Não se queixe de Deus; se achar necessário, queixe-se a ele e deixe-o cuidar de você.

None of you will enter the land which ... swore to give them to his home (numbers 14:30).

Human beings are never satisfied with what you have, with what God gives you every morning – the renewal of life, health, food, work, the air we breathe, the sun warming the US overnight so that we have the coolness that eases the heat of the day.

God does everything in its proper time, but we live to complain and grumble.

Thus occurred with the Hebrew people after he was released from Egypt under the leadership of Moses and the inspiration of God Almighty and blesser. Complained of bitter waters and the Lord guided Moses playing a twig of a tree on the waters, making them sweet. Complained of hunger and the Lord sent them, in the morning, the bread (manna) and afternoon (quails). The people came to rebelling against Moses by lack of who or what worship, and Aaron gathered your jewellery, made them a golden calf and builded him an altar, which kindled the wrath of God against them (Exodus 32: 1-10). And so the people were complaining at every step and God who is faithful, provided them with resources for your needs in time. Finally God punished all rebels by his constant opposition to him, not allowing to enter the promised land, Canaan. Entered only Joshua and Caleb, who were faithful all the time, pleasing to the Lord.

But that Word is not just for the Hebrews in the Old Testament: 1 Corinthians 10: 1-13, God also alert us through it, exposing the past and calling attention to the present with our complaints and dissatisfaction. "Don't whine", says God there through Paul, and saying that this occurred and was written "as a warning to us" (verse 11). We must therefore be vigilant, faithful and happy, because the complete alert saying: "the one who judges be firm, take care lest he fall" (verse 12). -ETA

Do not complain of God; If you find it necessary, complain to him and let him take care of you.
