A Paz / Peace

Leitura Bíblica: Isaías 57:15-21

(Cristo) veio e anunciou paz a vocês… (Efésios 2:17).

O mundo precisa de paz. Em todos os lugares proliferam problemas que tiram a nossa paz: desemprego, guerras, pobreza, corrupção, tráfico de drogas, riquezas desmedidas. E esta situação não é nova. É como diz Eclesiastes 1:10 – “Haverá algo de que se possa dizer: ‘Veja! Isto é novo!’?” Não! Já existiu há muito tempo; bem antes da nossa época”. Não há novidade no decorrer dos séculos. Muda apenas a forma como o sofrimento e as aflições se apresentam. Os problemas continuam os mesmos. Percebemos que a sabedoria do mundo não é suficiente para trazer paz ao homem.

Além desta falta de paz exterior, há também a falta dela em nosso interior. A certa altura de sua vida, o rei Davi cometeu uma série de erros que tiveram consequências terríveis. Ao ser censurado por um profeta, ele caiu em si e reconheceu que tinha sentido falta de paz por esconder suas falhas, a ponto de quase ficar doente (Salmos 32:3-4).

Paz é uma palavra tão simples, mas algo tão difícil de ser encontrado. No entanto, não é impossível de ser obtida! No texto de leitura, Deus declara que nos deseja dar paz e que vai providenciar o necessário para isto. Por isso, Ele mandou Jesus Cristo ao mundo, para anunciar a paz e morrer por nós. Só quando aceitamos esta verdade o nosso coração duro, maldoso, invejoso, ganancioso e egocêntrico percebe seus erros e pode confessá-los, como Davi fez ao reconhecer que o profeta tinha razão em sua repreensão.

Jesus viveu entre as pessoas e sentiu na própria carne as consequências da falta de paz no mundo. Ele sabia que isto não mudaria, como expressam os versículos finais da leitura de hoje. Não a dou como o mundo a dá. Não se perturbem os seus corações, nem tenham medo” (João 14:27). Para ter paz interior, aquela que resiste a qualquer circunstância externa, busque-a junto a Deus, que prometeu: “Paz, paz, aos de longe e aos de perto”! – (EOL)

Paz com Deus no coração: não há guerra que resista.

(Christ) came and announced peace to you ... (Ephesians 2:17).

The world needs peace. Everywhere are proliferating problems that take our peace: unemployment, wars, poverty, corruption, drug trafficking, unreasonable riches. And this situation is not new. Is as says Ecclesiastes 1:10-"there will be something that we can say: ' See! This is new! '? " No! Already existed a long time ago; well before our time. " There is no novelty over the centuries. Changes only how the suffering and afflictions. The problems remain the same. We realize that the wisdom of the world is not enough to bring peace to mankind.

In addition to this lack of peace abroad, there is also the lack of it in our interior. At one point of his life, King David committed a series of errors that had dire consequences. To be censored by a prophet, he fell into itself and acknowledged that he had felt lack of peace by hiding its flaws to the point of almost being sick (Psalm 32: 3-4).

Peace is a Word as simple, but something so difficult to be found. However, it is not impossible to be obtained! In reading text, God declares that we want to give peace and that will provide the necessary for this. So he sent Jesus Christ to the world, to announce peace and die for us. Only when we accept this truth our heart hard, spiteful, jealous, greedy and self-centered realizes their mistakes and can admit them, as David did in recognizing that the Prophet was right in his reprimand.

Jesus lived among people and felt in their own flesh the consequences of lack of peace in the world. He knew that this would not change, how to express the final verses of today's reading. Do not give as the world gives. Do not disturb their hearts, nor be afraid "(John 14:27). To have inner peace, one that resists any external circumstance, look for it before God, who promised: "peace, peace, from afar and from near"! – (EOL)

Peace with God in heart: there is no war to resist.
