Leitura Bíblica: Habacuque 1:1-4; 2:2,3,14

Mas a terra se encherá do conhecimento da glória do Senhor, como as águas enchem o mar (Habacuque 2:14).

Hoje fiquei de novo chocado ao assistir um documentário sobre a Somália, meu coração se revoltou com a inesgotável maldade do “bicho gente”. Mas nem é preciso ir tão longe, basta olhar pela janela para ver o mundo que parece girar ao contrário – injustiça sobre injustiça, mantendo a velha rotina de que só os fortes se dão bem. Habacuque, que se estima ter vivido por volta de 600 a.C., já sentia as mesmas dores. Você se sente injustiçado? Chora pela injustiça no mundo?

Lembro-me daquela brincadeira de turistas usar a perspectiva para dar a impressão de estar segurando a Torre Eiffel entre os dedos. É mais ou menos assim que a nossa mente funciona: o que está longe. A atenção é focalizada no que está geográfica ou temporalmente perto, “esquecendo” coisas maiores e mais importantes além do alcance da vista.

Se você continuar lendo o livro de Habacuque, encontrará a resposta de Deus ao profeta: um evento futuro. O dia quando o que chamamos de Reino de Deus finalmente chegará. Esse Reino já foi inaugurado com a vinda de Jesus, que cumpriu tudo o que estava determinado e vai voltar para a implantação completa e definitiva do Reino. Então, e só então, “a terra se encherá do conhecimento da glória do Senhor”, as coisas serão colocadas em seu devido lugar, o universo todo se renderá ao único Deus Soberano. A morte e injustiça serão extintas. Jesus prometeu isto de forma absolutamente clara, você crê nele?

Se assim creio, preciso constantemente trazer a lembrança que vivo neste mundo à espera do que Jesus prometeu e que sei, não vai falhar. Com isto, apesar da tentação de agir como “esperto”, terei confiança para lutar pela justiça e não sucumbirei ao que meus olhos veem aqui e agora. Isto se chama esperança. – MHJ

But the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters fill the Sea (Habakkuk 2:14).

Today I was again shocked while watching a documentary on Somalia, my heart revolted with the inexhaustible naughtiness of "animal people". But Needless to go so far, just look out the window to see the world that seems to turn upside down – injustice on injustice, keeping the old routine of which only the strong get along. Habakkuk, which is estimated to have lived around 600 BC, already felt the same pain. You feel wronged? Cries for injustice in the world?

I remember that joke of tourists use the perspective to give the impression of being holding the Eiffel Tower between the toes. Is more or less so that our mind works: what is far. Attention is focused on what is geographical or temporally close, "forgetting" things larger and more important beyond the reach of sight.

If you continue reading the book of Habakkuk, you will find the response of God to the Prophet: a future event. The day when the Kingdom of God we finally arrive. This Kingdom has already been opened with the coming of Jesus, who fulfilled all that was determined and will return to the full and final implementation of the Kingdom. Then, and only then, "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord", things will be put in its proper place, the whole universe will yield to the only sovereign God. Death and injustice will be extinct. Jesus promised this absolutely clear, you believe in him?

If so I believe I need to constantly bring to remembrance that live in this world waiting than Jesus promised and I know it will not fail. With this, despite the temptation to act as "smart", I will have the confidence to fight for Justice and not will fall will fall to what my eyes see here and now. This is called hope. -MHJ
