Desistir sempre e nunca / Give up always and never

Leitura Bíblica: I Coríntios 13:11; 14:20

Desvie-se do mal e faça o bem (Salmos 37:27a).

Quando observamos um grupo de crianças brincando, presenciamos desistências frequentes. Após alguma discordância entre elas, uma delas diz: “Não brinco mais com você! Nunca mais quero brincar e falar com você!” Coisas de menino. Mas não precisamos nos preocupar com tais atitudes. O interessante é que, depois da declaração entre as crianças que dizem que “nunca” mais vão se relacionar, em poucos minutos observamos que estão brincando juntas amavelmente. Aquele evento da discórdia já passou e tudo foi resolvido.

Desistir. Esta é uma palavra pouquíssimas vezes encontrada em toda a Bíblia. Mas, pensando em nossa vida espiritual, também precisamos abrir mão de certas coisas. Desistir do que faz parte de nossa infância e começar uma vida adulta com seriedade e maturidade espiritual é a vontade de Deus para o homem. Mas o que devemos deixar de lado, exatamente?

Precisamos desistir sempre do que desagrada a Deus “Arrependam-se e voltem-se para Deus, para que os seus pecados sejam cancelados” (Atos 3:19). A desistência vem sempre após o arrependimento. É por meio de Cristo que poderemos seguir um novo rumo. Se quisermos ser seus discípulos, teremos de nos afastar da mentira, do ciúme, do ódio, dos maus pensamentos…mas nunca desistir da fé: “O justo viverá pela sua fidelidade” (Habacuque 2:4b). É preciso deixar qualquer coisa ou situação que não seja útil na vida espiritual, porém a fé deve permanecer. Se perdermos tudo – bens, casa, saúde – que sobre a fé. Se não tivermos nada além dela, ainda assim teremos muito. Se oferecem opções para desistir – e há grandes possibilidades de isso acontecer em nossa vida – que possamos lembrar–nos de que não podemos abrir mão de nossa fé. Devemos pedir a Deus que nos ajude, aumentando a nossa confiança nele. – (ACS/VS)

Deixemos de lado tudo o que desagrada a Deus, sem nunca desistir de nossa vida com Ele.

Give up always and never

To divert themselves from evil and do good (Psalms 37: 27a).

When we see a group of children playing, witnessed frequent dropouts. After some disagreement between them, one of them says: "Don't play with you more! Never want to play with and talk to you! “Boy stuff. But we need not concern ourselves with such attitudes. The interesting thing is that after the Declaration among children who say "never" more will relate to, in a few minutes we found that are playing together nicely. One event of discord has passed and everything was solved.

Give Up. This is a word very few times found throughout the Bible. But, thinking in our spiritual life, we also need to let go of certain things. Give up that part of our childhood and begin an adult life with integrity and spiritual maturity is the will of God to man. But what we must leave aside, exactly?

We need to give up always what displeases God "repent and turn to God, so that your sins are cancelled" (Acts 3:19). The withdrawal comes always after repentance. It is through Christ that we will be able to follow a new direction. If we are to be his disciples, we need to get away from the lie, of jealousy, hatred, bad thoughts ... but never give up the faith: "the just shall live by his faith" (Habakkuk 2: 4b). You must leave any thing or situation that is not useful in the spiritual life, but faith should remain. If we lose everything-goods, House, health – what about the faith. If we don't have anything beyond, still we have a lot. If offer options to give up – and chances of that happening in our life – we can remind us that we cannot give up our faith. We must ask God to help us, increasing our confidence in him. -(ACS/VS)

Let us leave aside anything that displeases God, without ever giving up our lives with it.
