Deserto Leitura bíblica: Êxodo 13.17-22 _________________ A coluna de nuvem não se afastava do povo de dia, nem a coluna de fogo, de noite (Êxodo 13.22). _________________

Ah, se a vida fosse apenas um mar de rosas, mas não é. Enfrentamos situações difíceis, de aflição, sofrimento, angústia. Muitas vezes não sabemos em que direção seguir. É pior ainda quando Deus aparentemente não fala nem faz nada. Parece que a situação nunca será solucionada.

Veja o povo de Israel: fora liberto da escravidão e opressão que sofrera no Egito durante 430 anos. Que vitória espetacular! Agora bastava viajar até a tão prometida terra de Canaã. Mas Deus guiou os israelitas por um caminho mais longo, para que não fossem tentados a voltar atrás ao terem de guerrear contra os filisteus. Percorreram um caminho mais longo justamente para evitar algo para o qual ainda não estavam preparados.

Às vezes reclamamos quando a solução de Deus demora a chegar, mas Deus sabe exatamente o que faz. Se Deus agilizasse o processo, talvez não estivéssemos preparados e colocaríamos tudo a perder, desistindo ou não aproveitando aquilo que ele nos dá. Muitas vezes ele nos livra de coisas ainda piores do que as que estamos passando.

O povo foi conduzido pelo deserto, o que passou a ser sinônimo de sofrimento. Não há nada ali. Passamos por desertos também. É quando não vemos solução diante de uma crise, quando nos sentimos abandonados. Não temos como evitar essas caminhadas áridas, mas a boa notícia é que não precisamos passar por isso sozinhos. De dia, Deus ia à frente do povo numa coluna de nuvem, e de noite, numa coluna de fogo. Mesmo com essa presença visível, o povo precisou confiar que o Senhor os conduziria pelo caminho certo. Os desertos são momentos difíceis, mas também aqueles em que mais dependemos de Deus. Quando nos sentimos impotentes, Deus pode manifestar sua ação, cuidado e presença. E mesmo que seja difícil até perceber a ação de Deus, a melhor saída é confiar, pois ele não abandona aqueles que lhe obedecem. (IG)

 Passar por desertos é inevitável. Mas também é uma oportunidade para ter experiências profundas com Deus.

Ah, if life were just a bed of roses, but it's not. We face difficult situations of distress, suffering, anguish. Many times we don't know in which direction to go. It's even worse when God apparently did not speak or do anything. It looks like the situation will never be resolved.

See the people of Israel: outside freed from slavery and oppression that had suffered in Egypt for 430 years. That spectacular victory! Now you could travel to the promised land of Canaan. But God led the Israelites by a long way, so you won't be tempted to go back to having to wage war against the Philistines. Have come a long way just to avoid something for which were not yet ready.

Sometimes we complain when the solution of God takes to arrive, but God knows exactly what he's doing. If God streamline the process, maybe we weren't prepared and put it away, giving up or not taking advantage of what he gives us. He often frees us of things worse than those which we are passing.

The people was conducted by the desert, which became synonymous with suffering. There's nothing there. Through deserts as well. Is when you can't see a solution before a crisis, when we feel abandoned. We have no way to avoid these arid walks, but the good news is that we don't have to go through this alone. By day, God was ahead of the people a pillar of cloud, and by night in a pillar of fire. Even with this visible presence, the people had to trust that the Lord would lead them the right way. The deserts are difficult moments, but also those in which more we depend on God. When we feel powerless, God can manifest its action, care and presence. And even though it's hard to understand the action of God, the best way out is to rely, as it does not abandon those who obey him. (IG)

Through deserts is inevitable. But it is also an opportunity to have profound experiences with God.
