Leitura Bíblica: I Timóteo 4:6-16

Ninguém o despreze pelo fato de você ser jovem, mas seja um exemplo para os fiéis na palavra, no procedimento, no amor, na fé e na pureza (I Timóteo 4:12).

Certo dia decidi passear na orla da praia com toda a minha família. A única coisa que me preocupava no passeio era o elevado índice de roubos de relógios naquela praia. Precavido, disse ao meu filho de 10 anos: “Guarde o seu relógio, pois o local onde vamos passear é muito perigoso”. Imediatamente ele respondeu: “Pai, se é muito perigoso, você precisa guardar o seu relógio também!”

Que tolice a minha, ensinar sem praticar. Eu precisava dar o exemplo para que o ensino fosse coerente.

A primeira carta de Paulo a Timóteo é uma grande orientação acerca do tema “exemplo”. Timóteo era companheiro e ajudante de Paulo. Seu nome significa “Honra a Deus”. Diferentemente de muitos de nós, Paulo ensina e pratica. O texto de hoje é categórico no ensino: “Seja um exemplo para os fiéis”. Vale ressaltar que a palavra “exemplo” do texto vem do gregos, que significa “modelo, imagem, ideal, padrão”. Assim, exemplo é aquilo que deve ser imitado, é um modelo a ser seguido. Outro fator interessante neste texto bíblico é que ele destaca também a importância de ser exemplo para os fiéis. Ser exemplo dos fiéis é ir além, é ser referencial àqueles que comungam da mesma fé e prática cristã!

A conduta do cristão é um fator de muita importância no meio em que vive. O cristão pode fortalecer o irmão que o rodeia ou até mesmo enfraquecê-lo, portanto torna-se necessário ser exemplo no falar, no agir, nos relacionamentos, enfim, em tudo. Cabe destacar que a conduta ideal do cristão é aquela permeada dos princípios bíblicos.

Precisamos ter uma conduta exemplar, um modo de viver que sirva de padrão, um comportamento correto. Deus precisa hoje, mais do que nunca, de cristãos que sejam exemplos dos fiéis na palavra, no trato, no amor, na fé e na pureza. – (DMS)

A palavra convence, mas o exemplo arrasta!

Bible reading: 1 Timothy 4: 6-16

No one despise because you are young, but be an example to the believers in Word, in the procedure, in love, in faith and in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).

One day I decided to stroll on the beach with my whole family. The only thing that worried me on was the high rate of theft of watches that beach. Cautious, told my son of 10 years: "Keep your watch, because the place where we stroll is very dangerous". He immediately replied: "father, if it is very dangerous, you need to keep your watch too!"

How foolish my teach without practice. I needed to set an example for that teaching was consistent.

The first letter of Paul to Timothy is a great guideline on the subject "example". Timothy was a companion and Sidekick of Paul. His name means "Glory to God". Unlike many of us, Paul teaches and practises. Today's text is categorical in teaching: "be an example to the faithful". It is noteworthy that the word "example" of the text comes from the Greek, meaning "model, image, ideal, default". Thus, the example is what must be imitated, is a model to be followed. Another interesting factor in this biblical text is that it highlights the importance of being an example to the faithful. Be an example of the believers is to go beyond, it is referential to be to those who share the same faith and Christian practice!

The conduct of a Christian is a very important factor in the environment in which he lives. The Christian can strengthen the brother that surrounds or even weaken it, therefore it is necessary to be an example in speech, in the Act, in relationships, in short, in everything. It is worth mentioning that the ideal of Christian conduct is that permeated of biblical principles.

We need to have an exemplary behaviour, a way of living that will serve as a default, a correct behavior. God need today, more than ever, Christians who are examples of the believers in Word, in dealing, in love, in faith and in purity. -(DMS)
