Alegria

Uma coisa pedi ao Senhor; é o que procuro: que eu possa viver na
casa do Senhor todos os dias da minha vida, para contemplar a bondade do
Senhor e buscar sua orientação no seu templo (Salmo 27.4).

Ir ao templo é motivo de alegria? Para muitos,
infelizmente não. Podemos ir à igreja apenas por hábito, por termos de cumprir
alguma tarefa ou porque seremos cobrados se não formos. O versículo da leitura
bíblica de hoje me faz pensar com qual motivação vou ao templo. Claro, não
precisamos chegar ao extremo de desejar viver lá (veja o versículo em
destaque). Mas talvez devamos valorizar mais o privilégio que temos. Em alguns
países, os cristãos são proibidos de se reunirem para adorar a Deus, e um culto
pode resultar em prisão.
No templo encontramos outros cristãos e pessoas que
não vivem com Deus; podemos louvar a Deus juntos, orar uns pelos outros e
aprender mais sobre a Bíblia. O culto também pode trazer muitas surpresas. Orei
por um senhor que estava muito doente e não demostrava interesse algum em ir à
igreja, por achar que já conhecia Jesus. Meu marido o visitava com frequência,
mas eu não o conhecia – até o dia em que ele foi ao culto. Que alegria vê-lo
ali! Deus nos surpreende trazendo pessoas que não imaginávamos encontrar lá.
Assim tinha sido com meu marido: ele foi ao culto para que uma amiga parasse de
convidá-lo e não tinha pretensão alguma de voltar à igreja, mas naquela noite
ele entregou sua vida a Cristo. Foi o primeiro de muitos cultos!
Não precisamos necessariamente estar no templo para
ter um encontro com Deus (ele não está limitado ao espaço físico), mas lá
encontramos pessoas que podem nos ajudar a ter este encontro. Ali podemos
silenciar nossa mente agitada e nos concentrar em Deus. O culto público vai
refletir nossa adoração diária. Se ela for inexistente, que motivação teremos
para louvar a Deus? Que atenção prestaremos à sua voz? Mas, se vivemos com
Deus, adorá-lo com nossos irmãos será motivo de alegria!

Go
to the temple is reason of joy? For many, unfortunately not. We
go to church just by habit, by terms of fulfilling any task or because we will
be charged if we don't. The verse of biblical reading of today makes me wonder
with what motivation I'm going to the temple. Of course, we need not reach the
extreme of want to live there (see verse headlines). But maybe we should value
the privilege that we have. In some countries, Christians are forbidden to
gather to worship God, and a cult may result in imprisonment.
In the temple we find other Christians and people who do not live with
God; We can praise God together, pray for each other and learn more about the
Bible. The cult also can bring many surprises. I prayed for a man who was very
ill and no demonstrated interest in going to church, because I thought I
already knew Jesus. My husband visited him often, but I didn't know him – until
the day he was to the cult. What a joy to see you there! God surprises us
bringing people who didn't think were there. So had been with my husband: he
was the cult for a friend to stop inviting him and had no intention of
returning to the Church, but that night he gave his life to Christ. Was the
first of many cults.
We need not necessarily be in the temple to have a meeting with God (he
is not limited by physical space), but there we find people who can help us
make this meeting. There we can silence our minds busy and focus on God. The
public worship will reflect our daily worship. If it is non-existent, that
motivation we have to praise God? That attention will to your voice? But, if we
live with God, worship him with our brothers will be cause for joy.
