Naamã e toda a sua comitiva voltaram à casa do homem de Deus. Ao
chegar diante do profeta, Naamã lhe disse: “Agora sei que não há Deus em
nenhum outro lugar, senão em Israel” (2 Reis 5.15).

O início de 2 Reis 5 conta a história de um
homem que foi curado nos dias do profeta Eliseu. Este homem era Naamã,
comandante de um exército inimigo da nação de Israel. Ele não conhecia o Deus
de Israel e nem a sua misericórdia. No entanto, a este homem, que mantinha em
casa como escrava uma menina israelita capturada pelo seu exército, Deus
manifestou sua misericórdia.
Deus agiu naquele tempo e continua a fazê-lo na
atualidade. Ele age entre seus adoradores e entre aqueles que não o conhecem.
Mas o que chama atenção é a reação a esta manifestação.
Embora inicialmente relutante, Naamã seguiu a
orientação de Eliseu, banhou-se no rio Jordão e foi curado. Após essa
experiência, Naamã afirma: “Agora sei que não há Deus em nenhum outro lugar,
senão em Israel” (v 15b). O reconhecimento da grandeza do Deus de Israel levou
este homem a tomar uma decisão: “teu servo nunca mais fará holocaustos e
sacrifícios a nenhum outro deus, senão ao Senhor” (verso 17).
Você já conhece o Deus que Naamã conheceu? A partir
de sua experiência, o que mudou em sua vida ou qual decisão foi tomada? Você pode
achar que vive uma situação que não lhe permite reconhecer a misericórdia de
Deus.
Mas olhe ainda para a vida da menina israelita, de
quem a Bíblia nem mesmo cita o nome. Ela não permitiu que as dificuldades
apagassem a confiança que tinha no seu Deus. Apesar de ser escrava, ela sentia
a misericórdia de seu Deus, fato que a fez testemunhar para a sua senhora. Suas
palavras foram sinceras e levaram esta mulher a falar ao marido. Assim como a
misericórdia de Deus foi manifesta a Naamã, por meio de uma menina, ela também
se manifesta a você. Você tem reconhecido e testemunhado sobre isso?

Naaman and his entire Entourage returned to the House of the man of
God. Upon arriving before the Prophet, Naaman said to him: "now I know
that there is no God anywhere else, only in Israel" (2 Kings 5.15).

The
beginning of 2 Kings 5 tells the story of a man who
was healed in the days of the Prophet Elisha. This man was Naaman, Commander of
an enemy army of the nation of Israel. He did not know the God of Israel nor
his mercy. However, this man, who kept home as an Israeli girl slave captured
by his army, God manifested his mercy.
God acted at that time and continues to do so today. He acts among his
worshipers and among those who do not know him. But what draws attention is the
reaction to this demonstration.
Although initially reluctant, Naaman followed the guidance of Elisha,
bathed in the Jordan River and was cured. After this experience, Naaman says:
"now I know that there is no God anywhere else, only in Israel" (v
15b). The recognition of the greatness of the God of Israel took this man to
make a decision: "thy servant never do burnt offerings and sacrifices to
any other god, or unto the Lord" (verse 17).
You already know the God that Naaman met? From your experience, what has
changed in your life or what decision was made? You can find living a situation
that does not allow you to recognize God's mercy.
But look for the life of the Israeli girl, who the Bible even mentions the
name. She did not allow the difficulties to erase the confidence you had in
your God. Despite being a slave, she felt the mercy of your God, which made
testify to his lady. His words were sincere and they took this woman talking to
her husband. As well as the mercy of God was manifested the Naaman, by means of
a girl, she also manifests itself to you. You have acknowledged and witnessed
about it?
