O
arco-íris é um fenômeno meteorológico que
acontece quando o sol brilha sobre gotas de chuva. Imagino que você já o tenha
visto muitas vezes. Mas você já questionou a razão de ele existir? Talvez seja
tão natural para nós que ele apareça em dias de chuva com sol que, mesmo
admirando a sua beleza, não nos damos conta de quem o criou e qual o seu
significado.
O texto que
você acabou de ler é parte final do relato do Dilúvio. Por causa da perversidade
do ser humano, Deus eliminou quase toda vida existente na face da terra.
Contudo, ele salvou Noé e sua família e todas as espécies de aves e animais. No
entanto, ao final Deus faz uma promessa ao ser humano. Nunca mais ele repetiria
esta forma de destruir a terra. E o arco-íris foi o sinal dessa aliança de Deus
com Noé e seus descendentes.
Infelizmente
a maldade do ser humano continuou a existir. A palavra de Deus nos revela que
somos egoístas e egocêntricos, e como tal nos afastamos da vontade de Deus para
nossa vida. E por isso creio que vivemos em tempos muito parecidos com os de
Noé. Basta olhar ao nosso redor para enxergar corrupção, injustiças,
imoralidade sexual e coisas semelhantes. Mesmo que Deus não use um novo
dilúvio, ele nos alerta sobre a consequência do pecado. A Bíblia é clara ao
enfatizar que o pecado – aquilo que desagrada a Deus – gera a morte: “O salário
do pecado é a morte” (Romanos 6.23). Contudo, ele nos providenciou salvação,
não em uma arca de madeira, como quando salvou Noé, mas em Jesus Cristo. Em
João 10.9 Jesus diz: “Eu sou a porta; quem entra por mim será salvo”. Assim
como na época de Noé foi ofertada salvação, também hoje podemos ser salvos. Noé
creu e foi salvo, e, se você crê em Jesus Cristo, também será salvo. E se você
ainda não crê em Jesus, quero convidá-lo a refletir se este não é o momento
para fazê-lo.

O arco-íris sinaliza que não existirá um novo Dilúvio, mas ainda assim precisamos de salvação.

The Rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon what
happens when the sun shines on rain drops. I guess you've already seen many
times. But have you ever wondered the reason it exists? Maybe it's so natural
to us that it appears on rainy days with Sun that even admiring its beauty, we
don't realize who created it and what it meant.
The
text you just read is the final part of the account of the Flood. Because of
the wickedness of the human being, God eliminated almost all life on Earth.
However, he saved Noah and his family and all species of birds and animals.
However, in the end God makes a promise to humans. He never repeat this way to
destroy the Earth. And the Rainbow was the sign of this Covenant of God with
Noah and his descendants.
Unfortunately
the evil of human beings continued to exist. The word of God reveals to us that
we are selfish and self-centered, and as such we move away from the will of God
for our lives. And so I believe that we live in a time very similar to those of
Noah. Just look around us to see corruption, injustice, sexual immorality and
similar things. Even though God does not use a new deluge, he warns us about
the consequence of sin. The Bible is clear by emphasising that the sin-that
which displeases God – generates death: "the wages of sin is death"
(Romans 6.23). However, he provided salvation, not in a wooden Ark, as when you
saved Noah, but in Jesus Christ. In John 10.9 Jesus says: "I am the door;
Whoever enters through me will be saved. " Just as in the time of Noah was
offered salvation, also today we can be saved. Noah believed and were saved,
and, if you believe in Jesus Christ, will also be saved. And if you still don't
believe in Jesus, I want to invite you to ponder if this is not the time to do
it.
