Pilatos [disse]: O que escrevi, escrevi (João 19.22).

Nossas declarações têm muito valor na medida em que forem manifestações incontestáveis dos compromissos
que assumimos. Hoje lemos sobre uma frase polêmica colocada sobre a cruz onde
Jesus foi morto. Quando alguém era condenado, colocava-se uma placa descrevendo
seu crime num local em que todos pudessem vê-la. Pôncio Pilatos não encontrou
culpa em Jesus e mandou escrever: “Rei dos judeus”. Os acusadores de Jesus
diziam que ele assim se considerava, mas não concordaram com o escrito –
disseram que seu crime foi ter afirmado ser Filho de Deus (verso 7),
demonstrando que de fato não queriam se submeter ao seu governo.
Pilatos
conseguiu descrever em poucas palavras aquilo que Cristo realmente era, mas não
foi o verdadeiro autor da inscrição. Deus já tinha estabelecido este título
para Jesus, os profetas anunciaram a vinda de um rei e Pilatos foi apenas um
meio para declarar a verdade. Em sua conversa com o governante, Jesus afirmou,
com muita propriedade, que seu reino não era deste mundo (João 18.36) – ele
está acima de qualquer governo desta terra. Não é um rei, mas o rei.
Engana-se o
homem que pensa ter o poder de ditar como será nosso futuro. Muitos, guiados
pela soberba, equivocam-se ao acreditar que, por possuir alguma autoridade,
podem determinar algo sobre os outros. O poder de conduzir a História pertence
unicamente a Deus. Ele sabe de todas as coisas e nos ama incondicionalmente.
Deus usou Pilatos para escrever aquela mensagem. Hoje, por meio de sua eterna
sabedoria, ele é quem escreve nas linhas de nossas vidas. Sobre seus filhos não
há uma inscrição de acusação, mas de redenção: “Esta pessoa desagradava a Deus,
mas foi perdoada por ele, teve sua vida transformada e agora vive com e para
Cristo”. E sobre sua vida, o que o Senhor tem escrito?

Our
statements have much value to the extent that they are
unassailable manifestations of commitments. Today we read about a controversial
phrase placed on the cross where Jesus was killed. When someone was convicted,
was a plaque describing his crime in a place where everyone could see it.
Pontius Pilate found no fault in Jesus and told me to write: "King of the
Jews". The accusers of Jesus said that he considered himself, but
disagreed with the written-said his crime was said to be the son of God (verse
7), demonstrating that in fact did not want to submit to his rule.
Pilate
was able to describe in a few words what Christ really was, but it was not the
true author of the inscription. God had already established this title to
Jesus, the prophets announced the coming of a King and Pilate was just a means
to declare the truth. In his conversation with the ruler, Jesus said, with a
lot of property, that his Kingdom was not of this world (John 18.36) – he is
above any Government of this land. Is not a King, but the King.
You're
wrong, the man believed to have the power to dictate how will be our future.
Many, guided by the superb, wrong to believe that, by having some authority,
can determine something about the other. The power to drive the story belongs
only to God. He knows all things and loves us unconditionally. God used Pilate
to write that message. Today, through its eternal wisdom, he is the one who
writes the lines of our lives. About your kids there is a charge, but of
redemption: "this person didn't like the God, but was pardoned by him, had
his life transformed and now lives with and for Christ". And about your
life, what you have written?
