prazeres (Tiago 4.3).

Um dia desses ouvi a seguinte história: um
professor de educação física disse que tem uma única filha de 13 anos que
estava lhe fazendo pedidos exagerados. Para poder ir a uma festa de uma colega
num sábado, ela precisava de um tênis de marca, um agasalho de uma grife americana
e um aparelho de som portátil. Tudo isso ficaria em torno de R$ 1.500,00. O pai
lhe fez a proposta de comprar um produto a cada mês. Ela não aceitou. Assim
como essa menina fez com seu pai, muitas pessoas têm feito pedidos exagerados a
Deus, às vezes querendo coisas que nem sempre são realmente necessárias.
No texto de hoje, mais precisamente no v 8, vemos
uma reverente petição na oração de Agur. Ele pede somente o necessário para
sobreviver. Vai bem na contramão da sociedade que nos rodeia, que é extremamente
consumista, com sede de prosperidade e riquezas. É uma atitude admirável e
digna de ser imitada neste mundo pós-moderno em que se consome mais por motivos
supérfluos do que por necessidade. O exemplo que Agur nos passa é de uma vida
equilibrada. Percebe-se que ele de fato vivia dessa forma e por isso pede a
Deus para permanecer assim.
Ele não quer nem a riqueza e nem a pobreza. Ele
quer ser sustentado pelo Senhor. Dá-nos a certeza de que Deus conhece quais são
as nossas reais necessidades. Essa oração leva-nos às seguintes reflexões: que
tipo de pedidos costumamos apresentar a Deus? Se fizéssemos uma lista honesta e
completa das coisas que pedimos ao Senhor durante a última semana, talvez até
nós mesmos ficaríamos meio sem jeito. Quanta infantilidade! Quanto
egocentrismo! Portanto, a oração de Agur é de quem busca agradar ao Senhor por
meio de uma vida marcada por humildade e temor a Deus. Assim, antes de pedir
algo a Deus medite no exemplo inspirador desse homem.

The other day I heard the
following story: a physical education teacher said he has an only daughter of
13 years who was making exaggerated claims. To be able to go to a party of a
colleague on Saturday, she needed a brand name shoes, a sweater of a brand and
a portable stereo. All this would be around R$ 1500.00. The father made the
offer to buy a product every month. She did not accept. Just like that girl did
to his father, many people have made exaggerated claims to God, sometimes
wanting things that are not really necessary.
In the text today, more
precisely in the verse 8, we see a reverent petition in prayer of Agur. He asks
only what is necessary to survive. Doing well against the grain of society
around us, which is extremely based consumerist of prosperity and wealth. Is
admirable and worthy of being imitated in this postmodern world in which
consumes more superfluous reasons than out of necessity. The example that Agur
is a life in balance. You can tell that he actually lived that way, and so it asks
God to stay that way.
He doesn't even want the
wealth or poverty. He wants to be sustained by the Lord. Give us the certainty
that God knows our real needs. This prayer leads us to the following
reflections: what kind of requests usually present to God? If we made a list
full of things and honest that we ask the Lord for the last week, maybe even
ourselves we would be awkwardly. How childish! As self-centeredness. Therefore,
the prayer of Agur is those looking to please the Lord by means of a life marked
by humility and the fear of God. So, before asking something to God meditate in
the inspiring example of this man.
