Em nosso texto (v 1)
temos três pesadas acusações contra o povo israelita: falta fidelidade, amor e
conhecimento de Deus. Essas acusações não são feitas por pessoas, e sim pelo
próprio Deus. É como se Deus colocasse Israel numa balança de pratos, e aquele
povo fosse achado em falta nos três quesitos.
A primeira acusação é
falta de fidelidade. Fidelidade é a característica de quem é fiel, verdadeiro.
É elemento primordial em uma aliança. O ser humano rompeu a aliança com Deus, o
que se chama de pecado. Porém, da parte de Deus a aliança foi mantida e
renovada quando ele enviou Jesus Cristo e este derramou seu sangue na cruz como
preço para essa renovação. Deus é fiel (veja p.ex. Hb 10.23).
A segunda acusação é a
falta de amor. Podemos falar de amor de variadas formas, e jamais esgotaremos
seu significado. Mas há apenas uma forma de falar de amor de maneira plena:
Deus é amor (1Jo 4.16).
Por isso a terceira
acusação é chave e sintetiza toda a questão: falta conhecimento de Deus.
Obviamente, no livro de Oseias o conhecimento de Deus não se refere a
informações sobre ele. Conhecer Deus é relacionar-se com ele. É conhecê-lo
pessoalmente. Se Deus é fiel e é amor, e se são essas as características que
estão em falta, o centro do problema é evidente.
Oseias foi profeta no
século VIII a.C., portanto há quase 30 séculos. Penso, contudo, que mesmo hoje
as acusações de então cabem muito bem. Deus é gracioso em ainda manter a
oportunidade de conhecê-lo. Fez de tudo revelando-se em Jesus Cristo e
colocando nele a possibilidade de salvação. Ele é o único peso efetivo que tira
nossa balança da posição de dívida, anulando toda a acusação. Basta apenas crer
e assim conhecer o amor e a fidelidade de Deus de maneira bem pessoal.

In
our text (v 1) have three heavy charges against the Israeli people: lack
fidelity, love and knowledge of God. These charges are not made by people, but
by God himself. It's like God put Israel in the balance, and that people were
found missing on all three counts.
The
first accusation is lack of fidelity. Fidelity is the feature of who is
faithful and true. Is primordial element in an Alliance. The human being broke
the Alliance with God, which is called a sin. But God, the Alliance was
maintained and renewed when he sent Jesus Christ and this shed his blood on the
cross as a price for such renewal. God is faithful (for example, Hebrews 10.23).
The
second charge is the lack of love. We speak of love of various forms, and never
exhaust their meaning. But there is only one way of talking about love of God
is love full: way (1 John 4.16).
So
the third count is key and synthesize the whole issue: lack knowledge of God.
Obviously, in the book of Hosea the knowledge of God does not refer to
information about it. To know God is to relate to him. Is to meet you in
person. If God is faithful and is love, and if those are the features that are
missing, the center of the problem is clear.
Hosea
was a Prophet in the 8th century BC, so there are almost 30 centuries. I think,
however, that even today the accusations so fit very well. God is gracious to
still retain the chance to meet him. Made of all revealing himself in Jesus
Christ and placing in it the possibility of salvation. He is the only effective
weight that takes away our scales of debt position, nullifying the entire
prosecution. Just believe and so meet the love and fidelity of God very
personally.
