Limpeza geral Leitura bíblica: Isaías 1.11-20  _________________ Se confessarmos os nossos pecados, ele é fiel e justo para perdoar os nossos pecados e nos purificar de toda a injustiça (1 João 1.9). _________________

Antes de ler o texto bíblico indicado para aquele dia, dei uma olhada rápida no Presente Diário novo que acabara receber. Em uma das meditações, a autora falava sobre limpar o pó escondido debaixo dos livros na estante. O assunto “limpeza” também era conhecido do povo de Israel. Os ritos religiosos sempre visavam a purificação. Sujeira é caso sério, ainda mais quando se trata de sujeira espiritual: essa só Deus consegue limpar de verdade.
O problema é que o ser humano é espiritualmente sujo por natureza. Sua tendência é sempre agir com egoísmo e maldade. Ele não consegue se limpar sozinho – seria como tirar pó com um pano sujo, que só empurra a poeira de um lado para o outro.

A sujeira tem uma característica bem conhecida: ela só atrai mais sujeira, e nunca a limpeza. Por isso, uma limpeza espiritual parcial não resolve e nada significa para Deus. É isso que ele diz na leitura de hoje: não adianta manter a aparência exterior de piedade e religiosidade se o coração é mau e as obras também. Isso é hipocrisia, coisa que Deus descreve como repugnante e insuportável.

Se o ser humano nasce sujo e não consegue se limpar sozinho, haverá alguma esperança para ele? A dica está no versículo em destaque: “Se confessarmos os nossos pecados...”. É isso que Deus quer: que eu reconheça minha rebeldia e lhe mostre todos os cantos sujos do meu coração. Isso basta para que ele me perdoe e me limpe totalmente.

Mas, assim como a estante não se mantém limpa sozinha, também o meu coração voltará a ficar sujo. Por isso, é preciso permitir que Deus faça essa limpeza todos os dias – isso é o que a Bíblia chama de santificação. E ela é essencial para a nossa saúde espiritual.

Para ser limpo, não basta manter-se longe da sujeira – é preciso lavar-se regularmente.

Before reading the biblical text indicated for that day, I gave a quick look at This new Journal he had just received. In one of the meditations, the author talked about dust hidden under the books on the shelf. The topic "cleaning" was also known to the people of Israel. The religious rites have always aimed at the purification. Dirt is serious, especially when it comes to spiritual dirt: this only God can clean really.
The problem is that human beings are spiritually dirty by nature. Your tendency is to always act with selfishness and meanness. He can't clean up alone-it would be like taking out dust with a dirty cloth, which only pushes the dust from one side to the other.

The dirt has a feature well known: she only attracts more dirt, and never clean. Therefore, a spiritual cleansing does not solve partial and means nothing to God. That's what he says in today's reading: it does not help maintain the outward appearance of piety and religion if the heart is bad and works too. This is hypocrisy, which God describes as disgusting and insufferable.

If the human being is born dirty and can't clear myself, is there any hope for him? The tip is in the verse highlighted: "if we confess our sins". That's what God wants: I recognize my rebelliousness and show you all the dirty corners of my heart. That's enough for him to forgive me and I thoroughly clean.

But, just like you don't keep clean shelf alone, my heart will never get dirty. So, we need to allow God to do this cleaning every day – that is what the Bible calls of sanctification. And it is essential to our spiritual health.
