O livros dos
Salmos contém poemas, cânticos e orações usados pelos
judeus e pelos primeiros cristãos para adorar a Deus. Até hoje é difícil
encontrar cânticos melhores ao supremo e único Deus verdadeiro. Nenhuma oração
é mais perfeita do que um cântico de louvor ao nosso Senhor! Ele é Rei dos reis
e Senhor dos senhores, a autoridade máxima do universo! Nossa mente não é capaz
de compreender tamanha grandeza.
Lamentavelmente, muitas
vezes o nome de Deus é usado de forma desrespeitosa e vã, em anedotas e referências
vulgares. Imaginemos, se capazes formos, como o Senhor criou o universo. No
livro de Jó, o Senhor o desafia, perguntando: “Onde você estava quando lancei
os alicerces da terra? Responda-me, se é que você sabe tanto. Quem marcou os
limites de suas dimensões? Talvez você saiba! E quem estendeu sobre ela a linha
de medir? E os seus fundamentos, sobre o que foram postos? E quem colocou sua
pedra de esquina...? Quem represou o mar pondo-lhe portas...?” (Jó 38.4-8a) Os
capítulos 38 e 39 merecem ser lidos em adoração e humildade.
Ah, se pudéssemos
entender o senhorio de Deus ou de Jesus, a quem foi dado todo o poder. João
Batista reconheceu essa grandeza quando disse: “Não sou digno nem de desamarrar
as correias de suas sandálias” (Lucas 3.16b). O mesmo Senhor Jesus, sendo tão
grande, humilhou-se a tal ponto que se levantou da mesa, antes de comer com
seus discípulos, e começou a lavar os pés empoeirados deles – um serviço
reservado aos escravos! Mais tarde, até os soldados romanos que executaram a
crucificação exclamaram: “Verdadeiramente este era o Filho de Deus!” (Mateus
27.54)
Não há dúvida de que
Deus é Senhor soberano sobre tudo e todos. Disso testemunham a Bíblia, a
natureza, a História, as circunstâncias e todas as pessoas que o conhecem. A
melhor coisa que podemos fazer é nos submeter a ele, incondicionalmente.

amor de Deus explica porque ele, tão grande em sua majestade soberana, aceitou
tornar-se pequeno como um de nós!

The books of the Psalms contains
poems, songs and prayers used by the Jews and the early Christians to worship
God. Even today it is difficult to find best songs to the Supreme and only true
God. No prayer is more perfect than a hymn of praise to our Lord! He is King of
Kings and Lord of Lords, the highest authority in the universe! Our mind is not
capable of understanding such greatness.
Unfortunately,
many times the name of God is used disrespectfully and vain, in jokes and
references. Let us imagine, if we are able, as you created the universe. In the
book of job, the Lord challenges him, asking: "where were you when I
launched the foundations of the Earth? Answer me, if you know so much. Who
marked the bounds of its dimensions. Maybe you know! And who stretched the line
upon it measure? And their foundations, on which were placed? And who put their
corner stone...? Who dammed the sea putting her doors...?" (Job 38.4-8a)
Chapters 38 and 39 should be read in worship and humility.
Oh,
if we could understand the lordship of God or Jesus, who was given all the
power. John the Baptist recognized this greatness when he said: "I am not
worthy to untie the straps of his Sandals" (Luke 3.16 b). The same Lord
Jesus, being so large, humbled himself to the point that stood up from the
table, before eating with his disciples, and began to wash the feet dusty of
them-a service reserved for slaves. Later, until the Roman soldiers who
performed the crucifixion exclaimed: "truly this was the son of God!"
(Matthew 27.54)
There
is no doubt that God is sovereign Lord over everything and everyone. That bear
witness to the Bible, the nature, the history, the circumstances and all the
people who know him. The best thing we can do is submit to him unconditionally.

God explains why he, so great in your sovereign Majesty, accepted become small
as one of us!
