A excelência de Cristo

A igreja de
Filipos sempre trazia saudades a Paulo. Para entender a razão, veja a história
dessa igreja em Atos 16.11-40. Há três fatos marcantes nela: a conversão de
Lídia e sua generosidade com Paulo e seus companheiros, a jovem adivinha
que, depois de expulso o espírito que a possuía, foi a causa da prisão de
Paulo, e depois o milagre que resultou em sua libertação e na conversão do
carcereiro.
Agora o
apóstolo reforça o que lhes ensinara naqueles dias. Havia gente por lá querendo
impor a lei dos judeus àqueles cristãos. Paulo afirma-lhes que, se fosse para
confiar no cumprimento de leis, ele venceria a todos, mas que seria um erro basear-se
em rituais religiosos e regras humanas como garantia de reconciliação com Deus.
Esta se obtém apenas pela fé na obra de Cristo, que vem de Deus. No texto,
Paulo dá algumas razões que comprovam a excelência de Cristo.
O
conhecimento de Cristo era a chave para tudo na vida de Paulo. Ele percebeu que
as riquezas terrenas merecem desprezo em favor das celestiais. Essa revelação
da excelência de Cristo levou-o a considerar os sofrimentos por Cristo um
preâmbulo da sua própria ressurreição após a morte. Agora, o apóstolo, às
vésperas da própria morte, faz um balanço e confessa: isso é que é lucro e lhe
mostrou que valeu a pena ter vindo ao mundo, pois nada, nada mesmo, se compara
ao conhecimento de Cristo que nos virá depois da morte.
Chega ao
ponto de simplesmente chamar tudo o mais de lixo. Seria essa a sua experiência?
Se não foi até agora, ainda é tempo de experimentá-la. Paulo não deixou apenas
seu exemplo, mas também os mais valiosos escritos a respeito da excelência do
conhecimento de Cristo. Vale a pena reconhecer o valor deste inestimável
tesouro.

The Excellency of Christ

The
Church of Philippi always brought Miss Paul. To understand why, see the history
of this church in Acts 16.11-40. There are three milestones: the conversion of
Lydia and his generosity with Paul and his companions, the young Narrator,
after expelled the spirit that possessed, was the cause of the arrest of Paul,
and after the miracle that resulted in his release and in the conversion of the
jailer.
Now
the Apostle reinforces what they teach in those days. There were people out
there wanting to impose the law of the Jews to those Christians. Paul States
that, if it were to rely on compliance with laws, he could beat everyone, but
it would be a mistake to rely on religious rituals and rules of human reconciliation
with God. This is only by faith in Christ, who comes from God. In the text,
Paul gives some reasons to prove the excellence of Christ.
The
knowledge of Christ was the key to everything in life. He realized that the
earthly riches deserve contempt towards heavenly things. This revelation of the
excellence of Christ led him to consider the sufferings of Christ a preamble to
their own resurrection after death. Now, the Apostle, on the eve of his own
death, takes stock and confess: that's profit and showed him it was worth
coming to the world, because nothing, really nothing, compares to the knowledge
of Christ will come to us after death.
Gets
to the point of simply call all of garbage. Would that be the your experience? If it wasn't so far, there's still
time to try it. Paul wouldn't let just your example, but also the most valuable
writings about the excellence of the knowledge of Christ. It is worth
recognizing the value of this invaluable treasure.
