Recompensa
Leitura bíblica:

Alegrem-se e regozijem-se [se forem perseguidos], porque grande
é a sua recompensa nos céus, pois da mesma forma perseguiram os profetas que
viveram antes de vocês (Mateus 5.12).

Quem entrega
sua vida a Cristo está sujeito à oposição e até mesmo à perseguição
por viver na direção contrária à da maioria das pessoas. É impressionante
pensarmos que qualquer cristão poderá, pela fidelidade de Deus, igualar-se aos
profetas, mencionados no texto de hoje, ou aos mártires, que não negaram sua fé
mesmo diante da ameaça de prisão e morte. Quanto esforço as pessoas fazem hoje
em dia para que sejam reconhecidas, fiquem famosas e se tornem exemplo de
sucesso. No entanto, nenhuma delas chegará perto dessa promessa feita por Jesus
aos perseguidos por causa do seu nome.
Muito do que
fazemos em nossa vida se dá em busca de um alvo, objetivo ou prêmio. Como a
recompensa divina é prometida para depois desta vida, muitos não querem esperar
e rejeitam-na. São enganados por Satanás, que em cada tentação promete um
prêmio, mas, como ele mente, o resultado é sempre desgraça.
Mesmo que a
recompensa esteja reservada para o futuro, o cristão não deixa de receber muito
aqui na terra. Ele presencia verdadeiros milagres, tem esperança mesmo em meio
ao sofrimento, recebe a direção correta por meio da Bíblia e do Espírito Santo,
conta com a ajuda e a companhia constante do Senhor. Ele é vitorioso, mesmo que
as circunstâncias apontem o contrário. Tudo isso resulta em alegria e gratidão.
À medida que obedece ao Senhor, vai ficando cada vez mais parecido com Cristo
(que também foi perseguido).
Que Deus
ajude a cada um de seus filhos a viver com alegria mesmo em meio aos
sofrimentos e perseguições, sabendo que isso terá fim quando estiverem diante
do Senhor. Que a recompensa não seja seu objetivo, mas motivo de esperança e
consolo pelo que tiverem de enfrentar por defender o nome de Jesus!

Rejoice and rejoice [if they are persecuted], because great is your
reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who lived
before you (Matthew 5.12).

And who gives his
life to Christ is subject to opposition
and even persecution by living in the opposite direction to that of most
people. It's amazing to think that any Christian could, by the faithfulness of
God, equal to the prophets mentioned in the text of today, or the martyrs, which
does not have denied their faith even in the face of the threat of imprisonment
and death. How much effort people do nowadays to be recognized, be famous and
become an example of success. However, none of them will arrive near this
promise made by Jesus to those persecuted because of your name.
Much
of what we do in our life in search of a target, goal or prize. As the divine
reward is promised for after this life, many do not want to wait and reject it.
Are deceived by Satan, who in every temptation promises a prize but, as he
does, the result is always misery.
Even
if the reward is reserved for the future, the Christian does not cease to
receive here on Earth. He witnessed real miracles, have hope even in the midst
of suffering, receives the right direction through the Bible and the Holy
Spirit, has the help and constant companion of the Lord. He is victorious, even
if the circumstances point to the contrary. All this results in joy and
gratitude. As follows the Lord, is becoming more like Christ (who was also
chased).
That
God help each of his children to live with joy even in the midst of suffering
and persecution, knowing that it will end when you stand before the Lord. The
reward is not your goal, but reason of hope and consolation for what they have
to face to defend the name of Jesus!

[The Christians] was given the privilege of not only to believe in
Christ, but also to suffer for him (Philippians 1.29).
