Amigo

Vocês serão meus amigos, se fizerem o que eu lhes ordeno ... eu
os tenho chamado amigos, porque tudo o que ouvi de meu Pai eu lhes tornei
conhecido (João 15.14,15b).

Quando pensamos na pessoa de Jesus, é fácil formar uma imagem distorcida dele. Sua
grande sabedoria e os milagres que ele fez ressaltam a sua divindade, de forma
que para nós é difícil imaginá-lo como um ser humano sujeito a dores,
tristezas, fome, cansaço, tentações e as mais diversas emoções que nós também
sentimos.
O relato do
capítulo 11 de João, do qual lemos alguns trechos hoje, mostra uma faceta bem
humana de Jesus: seu amor pelos amigos e a empatia com a dor deles. Ao chegar
em Betânia e encontrá-los enlutados por causa da morte de Lázaro, Jesus também
ficou muito comovido e até chorou. Ele identificou-se com seus amigos em sua
tristeza. Ele, que tinha todo o poder de Deus à sua disposição, não se limitou
a “resolver o problema” devolvendo a vida ao falecido, mas mostrou que
realmente se importava com o que estavam passando.
Felizmente,
a amizade de Jesus não estava reservada apenas às pessoas que conviveram com
ele. Para ser amigo dele não é preciso ser talentoso nem popular, ter bens
materiais ou qualquer outra vantagem, nem saber conversar e ter assuntos
interessantes. Não é isso que Jesus procura em seus amigos. O único requisito é
obedecer aos seus ensinos (veja o versículo em destaque). A amizade que ele
oferece em troca disso é inigualável: ele se alegra com os que se alegram,
chora com os que choram, tem compaixão das nossas fraquezas por ter passado as
mesmas tentações que nós e pode nos ajudar nas dificuldades. Não há amigo que
seja melhor do que ele.
Se você já
é amigo de Jesus, então já experimentou a presença e o apoio dele ao seu lado e
com certeza não vai querer abrir mão disso. Se você ainda não é amigo de Jesus,
saiba de uma coisa: ele já se importa com você e está só esperando você se
voltar para ele e pedir a sua amizade. Experimente!

When we think of in
the person of Jesus, it is easy to form a distorted picture of him. Your great
wisdom and the miracles he did emphasize his divinity, so for us it's hard to imagine
him as a human being subjected to pains, sorrows, hunger, tiredness,
temptations and many different emotions we feel.
The
account of John, Chapter 11, from which we read some excerpts today, shows one
facet of Jesus ' human right: his love for his friends and to empathize with
their pain. Upon arriving in Bethany and find them bereaved because of the
death of Lazarus, Jesus was also deeply moved and even cried. He identified
himself with his friends in their sorrow. He, who had all the power of God at
your disposal, not just "solve the problem" returning life to the
deceased, but showed that really cared about what they were going through.
Fortunately,
the friendship of Jesus was not reserved only to people who had lived with him.
To be his friend if you don't have to be talented or popular, have material
goods or any other advantage, nor know talk and have interesting matters. Isn't
that what Jesus looks for his friends. The only requirement is obedience to his
teachings (see verse headlines). The friendship he offers in return is
unmatched: he rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep, has
compassion our weaknesses because he spent the same temptations that we and can
help us in difficulty. No friend who is better than him.
If
you are already a friend of Jesus, then you've experienced the presence and
support of it by your side and I'm sure you don't want to give that up. If you
are not friend of Jesus, know one thing: he cares about you and is just waiting
for you to turn to him and ask for his friendship. Try it!
