A manjedoura / The Manger

A manjedoura Leitura bíblica: Lucas 2.1-7  _________________ Ela deu à luz o seu primogênito. Envolveu-o em panos e o colocou numa manjedoura, porque não havia lugar para eles na hospedaria (Lucas 2.7). _________________

Fiquei chocado durante um culto de Natal. Aconteceu quando olhei para o presépio e vi nele a manjedoura. Foi como uma bomba! Abalou-me mais do que as cenas que vejo pela cidade onde crianças são carregadas dentro de carrinhos em meio a papéis velhos. Transportei-me no tempo para a época e o local do nascimento de Jesus e percebi a dureza daquela hora. Ele, o Criador do Universo, que poderia e merecia ser colocado em berço de ouro, ali estava, indefeso e pobre, em um cocho, local dos animais se alimentarem. Não, a cena não é bonita, é chocante! Aponta tanto para a humildade de Jesus quanto para a dureza de nossos corações.

Pensei: será possível que não havia ninguém em Belém disposto a dar lugar a Maria naquele estado? Pois não havia! Como deve ter sido duro para o casal, sem opções, passar a noite em um estábulo, e ser obrigado a depositar o recém-nascido em um cocho. Eu teria enorme tristeza se tivesse de fazer isso com meus filhos. Só faria, com muita dor, se não houvesse mesmo outro lugar mais adequado, como foi o caso deles.

Talvez alguém diga: mas os moradores daquela vila não sabiam de quem se tratava! Sim, é verdade. Mas o que justificaria se deixar uma jovem prestes a dar à luz sem assistência, e um bebê depositado em um cocho? Nada! Mas o pior é que para muitos continua a não haver lugar para Jesus. Festeja-se o Natal sem se fazer menção a ele que é a razão da festa. No máximo, em alguns casos, Jesus continua lá na sala, representado por um boneco dentro de uma manjedoura, sem que ninguém perceba o quão chocante é esta cena. Não, o lugar de Jesus não é a manjedoura! O lugar dele é e sempre deve ser o melhor. Assim, comemore o Natal com alegria, pois a data é festiva, mas nunca se esqueça que o lugar de honra, o melhor, é o único que cabe a Jesus!

I was shocked during a Christmas service. Happened when I looked at the crib and saw him in the manger. It was like a bomb! Shook me more than the scenes I've seen around town where children are loaded within stands in the midst of old papers. Moved in time to the time and location of the birth of Jesus and realized the toughness of that time. He, the creator of the universe, which could and deserved to be placed in a silver spoon, there it was, helpless and poor, in a trough, location of animals to feed on. No, the scene is not pretty, it's shocking! Points both to the humility of Jesus as to the hardness of our hearts.

I thought: is it possible that no one was willing to give way in Bethlehem to Mary in that State? Because there was no! What it must have been hard for the couple, without options, spend the night in a stable, and be obliged to deposit the newborn in a trough. I have great sadness had to do that with my kids. Just do, with a lot of pain, if there were no other place more appropriate, as was the case with them.

Maybe someone will say: but the villagers of that village didn't know who it was! Yes, it's true. But what would justify if you let a young woman about to give birth without assistance, and a baby is deposited in a trough? Nothing! But what's worse is that for many there is still no place for Jesus. Celebrated Christmas without making mention of him who is the reason for the party. At most, in some cases, Jesus is still there in the living room, represented by a doll within a manger without anyone noticing how shocking is this scene. No, the place of Jesus is not a manger! His place is and should always be the best. So, celebrate Christmas with joy, because the date is festive, but never forget that the place of honor, the best, is the only one that fits the Jesus!
