Consolo Leitura bíblica: Naum 1.1-15  _________________ O Senhor é bom, um refúgio em tempos de angústia. Ele protege os que nele confiam (Naum 1.7). _________________

Tem sido comum em nosso dia a dia virem à tona comentários de colegas de trabalho, amigos e familiares sobre a violência, a opressão, o sofrimento de pessoas justas, a prosperidade de corruptos, entre outros problemas que afetam a nossa sociedade. E também não é raro eu e você ouvirmos alguém fazer a seguinte pergunta: “Como pode Deus ser amor, se há tantas injustiças?”

O texto de hoje nos mostra que na época de Naum não era muito diferente. Mas, em meio às circunstâncias em que o povo de Judá vivia, Deus traz uma palavra de consolo por meio desse profeta, a começar pelo seu nome, que significa “conforto”, “consolo” – possivelmente uma abreviação de “o Senhor consola”. A Assíria era o império que dominava o mundo na época e constantemente ameaçava, oprimia e escravizava o povo de Israel (foi responsável pelo cativeiro de dez tribos, acabando com o Reino do Norte). Percebemos, então, que a mensagem divina é de juízo, mas também de consolo. A ideia é que o Senhor punirá a injustiça, mas confortará aqueles que esperam por ele. O versículo em destaque condiz muito bem com o significado do nome “Naum”. Ali há três afirmativas sobre Deus: ele é bom, refúgio e protetor. A Palavra de Deus afirma que Deus é amor (1 João 4.8), sejam quais forem as circunstâncias. Também diante das correntezas de problemas que a nossa sociedade vem enfrentando, e que muitas vezes nos atingem, podemos levantar nossa voz e afirmar que o Senhor é a nossa fortaleza! Ele nos conhece! Nas páginas da Bíblia podemos contemplar a maneira como Deus conhece aqueles que nele se refugiam e o servem: ele os chama pelo nome e sabe seu passado, presente e futuro. Por isso, pergunto: onde ou em quem você tem se refugiado? Quem tem sido seu consolo? Diante das injustiças nesse mundo que às vezes nos oprimem, Deus é Consolador para aqueles que nele confiam.

Has been common in our day to day surfaced comments from co-workers, friends and family about the violence, oppression, suffering people are fair, the prosperity of corrupt, among other issues that affect our society. And also it is not uncommon to me and you hear someone ask the following question: "How can God be love, if there are so many injustices."

The text today shows us that in the time of non-Naum was very different. But, in the midst of the circumstances in which the people of Judah lived, God brings a word of consolation through this Prophet, starting with its name, which means "comfort", "consolation" – possibly an abbreviation for "console". Assyria was the Empire that dominated the world at the time and constantly threatened, oppressed and enslaved the people of Israel (was responsible for the imprisonment of ten tribes, ending the northern Kingdom). We realize, then, that the divine message is of judgment, but also of consolation. The idea is that the Lord will punish the injustice, but will comfort those who wait for him. The verse highlighted match very well with the meaning of the name "Nahum". There are three statements about God: he is good, refuge and protector. God's Word says that God is love (1 John 4.8), whatever the circumstances. Also on the rapids of problems that our society has been facing, and that often we reach, we can raise our voice and say that the Lord is our fortress. He knows us! In the pages of the Bible we can contemplate the way God knows those who take refuge in him and serve him: he calls them by name and know your past, present and future. So I ask: where or whom you have taken refuge? Who has been your comfort? On the injustices in this world that sometimes overwhelm us, God is Comforting to those who trust in him.
