Embaixador

Conta-se
que o Brasil certa vez enviou um novo embaixador à Inglaterra. Chegando lá, ele
tratou de adaptar-se a um novo estilo de vida. Foi morar no centro de Londres,
numa área bem tradicional, começou a usar ternos e blazers de corte inglês,
confeccionados com a pura casimira daquele país; passou também a usar chapéu
coco e guarda-chuva pretos. Assimilou o sotaque britânico, a ponto de nas
recepções confundirem-no com um “englishman”. De tanto identificar-se com a
Inglaterra, passou a pensar e agir como um “lord”, esquecendo-se de sua
“brasileirice”. Raramente falava de nossa pátria ou defendia os interesses
verde-amarelos.
Um tempo
depois, o presidente da república substituiu aquele homem e para lá foi um novo
embaixador. Este, um brasileiro de verdade, moreno, baixinho e atarracado, com
sotaque carregado e que ia com vontade de trabalhar. Nunca se preocupou em
“parecer inglês”; nas reuniões defendia o Brasil falando de nossas belezas
naturais e das oportunidades que nossa terra oferecia aos empresários; sempre
tentava trazer para cá investimentos e indústrias britânicas. Quando se
aproximava de um grupo, as pessoas já cochichavam: “Lá vem aquele brasileiro
fazer propaganda das coisas de sua terra!” Este sim foi um grande embaixador do
Brasil.
A Bíblia nos
comunica que quem está em Cristo é nova criatura e que somos constituídos
embaixadores em nome de Cristo como se Deus falasse através de nós. Somos
representantes dele aqui, falando em seu nome e com o seu aval, nosso Rei.
Devemos, assim, falar e agir com a dignidade e a intrepidez de um cidadão do
Reino; nunca como aquele embaixador “meio-brasileiro-meio-inglês”. Cada palavra
e ato nosso devem ser para honra e glória daquele que nos confere o privilégio
de sermos seus embaixadores por aqui, terra onde estamos de passagem.

Ambassador

It
is said that the Brazil once sent a new Ambassador to England. Arriving there,
he tried to adapt to a new lifestyle. Went to live in Central London, in a very
traditional area, started wearing suits and blazers of corte Ingles made with
pure cashmere of that country; also use coconut and black umbrella hat.
Assimilated the British accent, the point of the receptions get confused with
an "englishman". So much to identify with England, started to think
and act as a "lord", forgetting their "brasileirice".
Rarely talked of our homeland or defending the interests yellow-green.
After
a time, the President of the Republic replaced that man and there was a new
Ambassador. This, a Brazilian real, mestizo, short and stocky, with a heavy
accent and you'd feel like work. Never bothered to "opinion"; Brazil
defended the meetings talking about our natural beauties and opportunities that
our land offered to entrepreneurs; always tried to bring here investments and
British industries. When approached from a group, people are whispering:
"here comes the Brazilian advertise things to their land!" This was a
great Ambassador of Brazil.
The
Bible informs that who is in Christ is a new creation, and that we are
comprised ambassadors on behalf of Christ as if God speak through us. We
represent here, speaking on your behalf and with your approval, our King. We
must, therefore, speak and act with dignity and courage of a citizen of the
Kingdom; never like that Ambassador
"middle-Middle-English-Brazilian". Every word and act our must be for
honor and glory of the one who gives us the privilege of being its ambassadors
here, land where passing through.
