O episódio
do encontro de Jesus com a mulher samaritana que você acabou de ler encerra uma
porção de diferentes lições, mas aqui eu gostaria de destacar a que na ocasião
mais interessava àquela mulher: água. Nossa primeira necessidade para viver é o
ar que respiramos, mas esse é abundante e a respiração é automática, então não
costuma preocupar-nos. Logo depois, porém, está a necessidade de água – e essa
pode faltar e dar trabalho. Vale qualquer esforço. Sem ela, a morte é certa e
rápida.
Ao ver a
ansiedade daquela mulher pela água, Jesus aguça o interesse dela com uma ideia
que ela primeiro entende de forma errada e a obriga a pensar um pouco mais,
para com isso lhe mostrar algo ainda mais crítico: a sede espiritual. A
continuação do relato mostra as várias tentativas dela ao longo da vida para
matar esse tipo de sede, sem conseguir. É provável que ela nem tenha percebido
o que exatamente lhe faltava, e tentou repetidamente satisfazer-se na fonte
errada – como alguém que tenta matar uma sede brava com cachaça – e só piora a
situação por causa da desidratação provocada pelo álcool.
Agostinho
de Hipona, um dos “pais da igreja”, acertou bem o foco da questão com sua
famosa observação de que vivemos inquietos até encontrarmos repouso em Deus – é
disso que se trata.
Se você já
fez de tudo, gastou forças, dinheiro, tempo e saúde para achar satisfação ou
felicidade, e essa sede da alma só aumentou, fale com Jesus, peça-lhe que
assuma o controle da sua vida e você terá em si mesmo a “fonte de água que
jorra para a vida eterna” que Jesus prometeu à samaritana.
Assim,
depois do suspiro do autor do Salmo 42 no versículo em destaque, você poderá
então citar um outro: Salmo 36.8-9, que se dirige a Deus dizendo: “Tu lhes dás
de beber do teu rio de delícias, pois em ti está a fonte da vida!” E pode acrescentar:
“Aaaah, que alívio!”

The
episode of the encounter of Jesus with the Samaritan woman that you just read a
lot of different lessons, but here I would like to highlight that mattered to
her at the time: water. Our first need to live is the air we breathe, but this
is abundant and the breathing is automatic, so not normally concern us. Soon
after, however, is the need of water – and this can miss and give work. Worth
any effort. Without it, death is certain and swift.
To
view the anxiety of that woman by water, Jesus sharpens her interest with an
idea she first considers the wrong way and forces you to think a little more,
to show you something even more critical: the spiritual headquarters. The
continuation of the report shows the number of her lifelong attempts to kill
this kind of seat, unable to. It is likely that she didn't realize what exactly
you need, and tried to repeatedly meet on wrong source – as someone who tries
to kill an angry headquarters with rum – and only worsens the situation because
of dehydration caused by alcohol.
Augustine
of Hippo, one of the "church fathers", hit the focus of the matter
with his famous observation that restless till we find we live home in God –
that's what this is about.
If
you've done everything, spent forces, money, time and health to find
satisfaction or happiness, and this thirst of the soul only increased, speak to
Jesus, tell him to take control of your life and you'll get it on yourself the
"water fountain that spurts to eternal life" that Jesus promised the
Samaritan.
So,
after the breath of the author of Psalm 42 in the verse highlighted, you can
then cite another: Psalm 36.8-9, which leads to God saying: "thou givest
them drink from your River of delights, for in you is the source of life."
And can add: "Aaaah, what a relief!"
