Arco-íris

Senhor disse:] Toda vez que o arco-íris estiver nas nuvens, olharei para ele e
me lembrarei da aliança eterna entre Deus e os seres vivos de todas as espécies
que vivem na terra (Gênesis 9.16).

A situação de nosso
planeta está tão caótica que às vezes dá vontade de perguntar por que Deus não
acaba com ele e cria tudo novamente. Ele já fez isso uma vez, com o dilúvio
(veja o relato nos capítulos 6 a 8 de Gênesis). A humanidade estava tão
perversa que todos os seres vivos foram destruídos, restando apenas a família
de Noé e os animais que ele havia levado na arca. Com estes sobreviventes Deus
fez a aliança sobre a qual lemos hoje. Eles se multiplicaram, espalharam-se
pelo planeta e então chegamos à nossa geração – infelizmente, tão má e corrupta
quanto a de Noé.
Deus prometeu que não
haveria mais dilúvio para destruir a terra, e o sinal desta aliança é o
arco-íris. Este arco colorido que vejo às vezes no céu me encanta desde a
infância e, quando posso, deixo de lado meus afazeres para admirá-lo. Lendo o
texto de hoje, imaginei quantos arco-íris Deus já viu desde o dilúvio,
lembrando sempre de sua aliança com os seres vivos. Cada arco-íris no céu pode
nos lembrar da misericórdia divina. Apesar do que os homens se tornaram, eles
não serão destruídos novamente. Deus nos ama a tal ponto que nos aceita e até
nos usa em sua obra apesar do que somos. Além disso, a esperança de cada filho
de Deus está no retorno do Senhor Jesus. Todo aquele que nele crê desfrutará a
vida eterna na nova criação (Apocalipse 21.1). No Céu não haverá maldade,
corrupção, violência – nada que desagrade ao Senhor e que chamamos de “pecado”.
Então, cada vez que você
enxergar um arco-íris lembre-se que Deus não quer destruir sua criação, mas
redimi-la! A esperança de uma nova terra sem as atrocidades das quais temos
notícia hoje é real para quem vive com Deus. Louve ao Senhor por sua
misericórdia conosco e seu grande amor demonstrado por meio de seu Filho Jesus!

Rainbow

the Rainbow is in the clouds, I will look at it and remember the everlasting
Covenant between God and the living organisms of all species living on Earth
(Genesis 9.16).

The situation of our planet is so chaotic that sometimes I just want to
ask why God doesn't end with it and create it again. He's done it once, with
the flood (see the account in chapters 6 to 8 of Genesis). Humanity was so
perverse that all living things were destroyed, with only the family of Noah
and the animals that he had taken on the Ark. With these survivors God made the
Covenant on which we read today. They multiply, spread across the planet and so
we come to our generation-unfortunately, as bad and corrupt as Noah.
God promised that there would be no more flood to destroy the Earth, and
the sign of this Covenant is the Rainbow. This colorful arch that I see
sometimes in heaven I love since childhood and, when I can, I leave aside my
chores to admire him. Reading the text today, I wondered how many Rainbow God
has seen since the flood, remembering always to your Alliance with living
beings. Every Rainbow in the sky can remind us of the divine mercy. Despite
what the men have become, they will not be destroyed again. God loves us to the
extent that we accept and use in your work in spite of what we are. In
addition, the hope of every child of God is in the return of the Lord Jesus.
Whoever believes in him should enjoy eternal life in new creation (Revelation
21.1). In heaven there will be no evil, corruption, violence-anything that
displeases the Lord and what we call "sin".
So, every time you see a rainbow, remember that God doesn't want to
destroy your creation, but to redeem it. The hope of a new land without the
atrocities of which have news today is real for those living with God. Praise
the Lord for your mercy to us and your great love shown through your son Jesus!

While there are rainbows in the clouds, there is a chance to get closer
to God.
