Independência ou morte

Acaso
tem o Senhor tanto prazer em holocaustos e em sacrifícios quanto em que se
obedeça à sua palavra? (1 Samuel 15.22a).

Samuel, o grande juiz e
profeta de Israel, teve vários diálogos ásperos com o rei Saul. A causa foi
sempre a atitude de Saul em agir de forma independente da vontade de Deus. Nós,
brasileiros, comemoramos todos os anos no dia 7 de setembro a independência de
nosso país. Ficou célebre a frase de D. Pedro I na hora da proclamação:
“Independência ou morte!”. Bem, apesar da frase grandiosa, D. Pedro sabia que
não estava arriscando sua vida ao proclamar nossa independência, até porque seu
pai, o rei português D. João VI, já havia preparado aquele evento.
Já quando nós agimos como
Saul e queremos ser independentes de Deus, não será mais uma escolha entre
independência ou morte, mas aí a frase deveria ser: “Independência é morte”.
Foi o que aconteceu com
Saul, que escolheu reger sua vida a seu modo e tentava justificar seus atos em
função disso. Desobedecia a Deus e depois tentava negociar com o Senhor. O
estratagema nunca deu certo. Essa atitude custou-lhe primeiro o apoio de
Samuel, depois o reino e finalmente a própria vida – e todos os personagens
bíblicos que assim agiram pagaram o mesmo preço. Basta ver a lista de desgraças
causadas por reis de Israel que se afastaram do Deus vivo. Alguém que se recusa
a prestar contas a Deus não precisa morrer fisicamente por causa disso, mas a
morte espiritual sempre será o resultado porque nos separa da fonte da vida.
Finalizando, olhemos para os acontecimentos ao nosso redor. Onde estão os
líderes e pessoas em geral que pautam sua vida na dependência de Deus? Há só
uma esperança: buscar em cada detalhe viver sob a orientação de Deus e jamais
pretender trocar a obediência a ele por sacrifícios ou realizações próprias
quaisquer.

as much pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in that obey your
Word? (1 Samuel 15.22 a).

Samuel, the great judge and Prophet of Israel, had several harsh
dialogues with King Saul. The cause was always the attitude of Saul in acting
independently of the will of God. We, Brazilians, we celebrated every year on
the day September 7 independence of our country. Became famous the phrase of
Pedro I at the time of the proclamation: "independence or death!".
Well, despite the grandiose phrase, d. Pedro I knew I was risking your life to
proclaim our independence, because your father, the Portuguese King D. João VI,
had already prepared that event.
When we act like Saul and we want to be independent of God, is no longer
a choice between independence or death, but the sentence should be:
"independence is death".
That's what happened to Saul, who chose to rule your life your way and
tried to justify his actions in that function. Disobeyed the God and then tried
to negotiate with the Lord. The ploy never worked. This attitude cost him first
the support of Samuel, after the Kingdom and finally life itself – and all the
biblical characters who so acted paid the same price. Simply view the list of
misfortunes caused by the Kings of Israel that moved away from the living God.
Someone who refuses to answer to God need not die physically for this, but
spiritual death will always be the result because it seperates us from the
fountain of life. Finally, look at the events around us. Where are the leaders
and people in General to guide your life in dependence on God? There's only one
hope: get every detail live under the guidance of God and would never want to
change the obedience to him by sacrifices or own any achievements.
