A igreja dos
tessalonicenses foi a segunda a ser estabelecida pelo apóstolo Paulo em solo
europeu, localizada na região da Macedônia (norte da Grécia). Era uma igreja
forte, firme em Deus, e Paulo, ao escrever-lhes a sua primeira carta, fala da
alegria que tinha pelo compromisso bonito e sincero destes irmãos com a fé em
Jesus, a despeito de toda a perseguição que isso poderia trazer. O texto que
você leu fala do desejo de Paulo em saber deles, pois estava enfrentando
perseguições. Por isso lhes envia Timóteo, para ter notícias e apoiá-los, a fim
de que todo o trabalho de Paulo em firmá-los na fé não fosse comprometido
diante das tentações e problemas que aquela igreja poderia estar enfrentando.
Quanto cuidado!
É difícil ver
cristãos expressarem tanta preocupação com seus irmãos como vemos em Paulo. Em
vez de preocupar-se com seus próprios problemas, própria segurança e conforto,
mostrou-se um homem que abriu mão do que tinha para dedicar-se a Deus e pregar
seu evangelho de amor. E cuidava das pessoas que abraçavam a fé como se fossem
filhos. Visitava-os, orava por eles, chorava e se alegrava com eles, sofria por
eles e era capaz de lhes dar a própria vida – o que literalmente fez, pois
gastou sua vida para edificar a vida de tantos homens e mulheres do seu tempo,
numa ação que ecoa até os dias de hoje e ecoará por toda eternidade.
Isso nos faz
pensar naquilo a que dedicamos nossa vida e preocupações. Se for apenas para o
nosso dinheiro, férias, o carro novo ou a última novidade tecnológica, algo
está fora do lugar. Além e acima de tudo isso, podemos e devemos fazer a
diferença na vida de pessoas, das quais podemos cuidar, abençoar, ouvir, ajudar
na caminhada da fé ou simplesmente, fazer-lhes o bem, como expressão do
incansável amor de Deus. Que tal ser um pouco como Paulo para alguém neste dia?

The
Church of the Thessalonians was the second to be established by the Apostle
Paul in European soil, located in the region of Macedonia (Northern Greece). It
was a strong, steady in God's Church, and Paul, to write their first letter,
speaks of the joy that had beautiful and sincere commitment of these brothers
with the faith in Jesus, in spite of all the persecution that could bring. The
text you read talks about the desire for Paul to know, because I was facing
persecution. That's why they send Timothy to have news and support them so that
all the work of Paul in toggle them on faith wasn't compromised in the face of
the temptations and problems that that Church could be facing. How much care!
It's
hard to see Christians Express so much concern with his brothers as seen in
Paul. Instead of worrying about their own problems, safety and comfort, was a
man who gave up he had to devote himself to God and to preach his Gospel of
love. And took care of the people who embraced the faith as if they were
children. Visiting them, praying for them, crying and if he's happy with them,
suffered by them and was able to give his own life – which literally made spent
his life to build the lives of so many men and women of his time, in a move
that echoes to this day and will echo throughout eternity.
It
makes you wonder what we devote our lives and concerns. If it is just for our
money, vacations, new car or the latest technology, something is out of place.
Beyond and above all this, we can and must make a difference in the lives of
people, of which we can handle, bless, hear, help on the journey of faith or
simply make them well, as an expression of the tireless love of God. How about
being a little like Paul to someone on this day?
