Ânimo! / Cheer up!

Ânimo! Leitura bíblica: 1 Tessalonicenses 5.12-24    _________________ Aquele que os chama é fiel, e fará isso (1 Tessalonicenses 5.24). _________________

As pessoas são diferentes e reagem de diferentes formas a uma mesma circunstância. Diante de um problema, uns se desesperam ou ficam paralisados, outros veem uma oportunidade de superação e focam na solução; uns lideram a ação e outros seguem a voz de comando. A vida real – não a fictícia – é permeada de problemas, sempre. Mas isso não precisa tirar-lhe a beleza, ainda que esta seja forjada na dor. Os conselhos finais desta carta de Paulo, que você deve ter lido há pouco, falam de atitudes que podemos ter na vida para torná-la mais leve diante das circunstâncias difíceis – coisa que os tessalonicenses certamente conheciam bem, já que eram perseguidos (Atos 17.5).

É possível reduzir parte das dificuldades apenas evitando confrontos desnecessários em nossas relações pessoais. A meta é buscar a paz e ser bondoso com as pessoas. E há também a dimensão pessoal das nossas reações internas. Por isso Paulo se dirige não a quem está feliz da vida, mas a quem está enfrentando problemas, incentivando-os a manter a alegria em alta! Sim, isso é possível! Você já passou tempo ao lado de alguém que está sempre se lamentando? Ela enfraquece, e a menor dificuldade derruba-a ainda mais. Alegrar-se, orar e ser grato a Deus são decisões que fortalecem a alma de quem se nutre dessas atitudes e abençoam aqueles que estão ao redor. E o apóstolo conclui dizendo que é isso que Deus quer pra nossa vida: que vivamos acima da constante reclamação e murmuração e que nos afastemos do mal. É dessa forma que mantemos nossa integridade emocional e espiritual diante de Deus.

Sabe quem era assim? Jesus! E Deus quer nos ensinar a nos parecer com ele inclusive nisso. Por isso, anime-se e comece a enxergar a vida a partir do olhar esperançoso da fé de quem tem em Jesus o seu modelo a seguir.

People are different and react in different ways to the same condition. Faced with a problem, some despair or freeze, others see an opportunity of overcoming and focus on the solution; some lead to action and others follow the voice command. Real life – not the fictional – is permeated with problems, always. But it doesn't need to take her beauty, though this is forged in pain. The final advice this letter of Paul, which you may have read earlier, speak of attitudes that we can have in life to make it lighter on the difficult circumstances – something the Thessalonians surely knew each other well, were persecuted (Acts 17.5).

It is possible to reduce part of the difficulties just avoiding unnecessary confrontations in our personal relationships. The goal is to seek peace and be kind to people. And there is also the personal dimension of our internal reactions. So Paul is addressed to those who are not happy, but who are facing problems, encouraging them to keep the joy in high! Yes, this is possible! Have you ever spent time with someone who is always complaining? She weakens, and the slightest difficulty tips even more. Rejoice, pray and be thankful to God are decisions that strengthen the soul who is nurtured these attitudes and bless those that are around. And the Apostle concludes by saying that this is what God wants for our lives: we live above the constant complaint and contempt and that in pursuit of evil. This is how we keep our emotional and spiritual integrity before God.

You know who it was so? Jesus! And God wants to teach us to look with him including it. So, cheer up and begin to see life from the hopeful look of faith who have in Jesus your role model.
