O Salmo 119 destaca a Bíblia. Quase todos os seus versículos, com poucas
exceções, apresentam termos como estatutos, palavra, mandamentos, preceitos e
outros. No original hebraico, este salmo exibe uma construção conhecida como “poema
alfabético ou acróstico”, isto é, cada grupo de oito linhas inicia com a mesma
letra do alfabeto hebraico. Assim, as oito primeiras linhas começam com as oito
primeiras letras do alfabeto hebraico (Aleph), as linhas 9 a 16 começam com a
segunda letra (Beth), e assim sucessivamente até, até usar o alfabeto inteiro.
Mas o que este texto escrito de maneira tão bela traz para nós? Ele fala
de um livro que também é fora do comum, apesar de muitas vezes não ser
reconhecido como tal. Para o cristão, a Bíblia deve ser o Livro dos livros, o
melhor de todos, pois traz a revelação divina para todas as pessoas. É ela que
o ajudará a crescer espiritualmente e a suportar as dificuldades particulares,
bem como a continuar caminhando obediente em sua fé.
Este salmo serve para direcionar o dia-a-dia daqueles que temem ao Senhor,
especialmente no que diz respeito à importância do uso da Palavra. Assim como
para o autor desta poesia, a Bíblia deve ser essencial para aqueles que amam o
Senhor. Ela não deve ser tratada superficialmente, mas merece apreciação, pois
seus ensinos são maravilhosos (verso 129) e trazem entendimento (verso 130). O Deus
que os deu é maravilhoso e, por isso, quando eles ficam gravados na nossa
mente, trazem o entendimento necessário para viver bem com o próximo e com o
próprio Deus. E, quanto mais você conhecer esta Palavra, mais desejo terá de
assimilá-la (verso 131). O cristão que conhece ou possui o texto bíblico não deve
trata-lo de forma descuidada, mas considerá-lo seu maior bem, pois seu
conhecimento ajuda a verdadeiramente viver para seu Senhor.

119 highlights the Bible. Almost all its verses, with few exceptions, terms

author of this poem, the Bible must be essential for those who love the Lord.
She should not be treated lightly, but deserves appreciation, because his
teachings are wonderful (verse 129) and bring understanding (verse 130). The
God who gave them is wonderful and, so, when they are written in our mind,
bring the understanding necessary for living well with others and with God
himself. And, the more you know this Word, most will need to assimilate it
(verse 131). The Christian who knows or has the biblical text should not treat
it carelessly, but consider it their greatest asset, because his knowledge
helps to truly live to their Lord.
