O Espetáculo Não Visto Leitura bíblica: Lucas 2.1-7  _________________ [Maria] deu à luz o seu primogênito. Envolveu-o em panos e o colocou numa manjedoura, porque não havia lugar para eles na hospedaria (Lucas 2.7). _________________

Escrevo numa antevéspera de Natal. Costumo escolher essa data para escrever, ler, meditar e caminhar. Isso me afasta do burburinho. No jornal, leio: “Tudo preparado para o espetáculo dos fogos em Copacabana”; “Artista tal grava o especial de Natal”, “Coros propagam seus musicais”… O ser humano é obcecado pelo espetáculo. Porém, o maior deles não foi visto por muita gente.

Vejam o que aconteceu no primeiro Natal. Um anjo do Senhor apareceu para os pastores e “a glória do Senhor resplandeceu ao redor deles” (verso 9). Uma multidão de anjos surge cantando. E a estrela, os magos vindos de longe? Tudo isso já foi surpreendente. Mas havia mais: esses acontecimentos inusitados serviram para proclamar o espetáculo essencial: o nascimento de Jesus, conforme lemos hoje. O Filho de Deus veio ao mundo como um bebê. Isso sim é espetáculo – tão maravilhoso quanto humilde. Mas em geral a humildade não encanta, não é desejada, passa totalmente despercebida e, quando vista em alguém, quase sempre é avaliada como hipocrisia, falta de atitude, baixa autoestima, uma característica que não leva a nada e por aí vai. Não é isso que vemos?

Como o mesmo ser que une os céus e a terra, anjos e homens, astros e estudiosos, que mobiliza seres impossíveis de serem controlados por mortais é, ao mesmo tempo, o bebê que nasce numa manjedoura? Esse é o seu maior espetáculo: a sua humildade. Esse importante fato não foi contemplado por muitas pessoas nem considerado grandioso por outras tantas. Porém, passamos a apreciá-lo mais do que qualquer apresentação natalina quando compreendemos que ali se iniciava a missão de Cristo, que veio ao mundo para morrer em nosso lugar (o maior ato de amor)!

Write a Christmas Jer. I choose this date to write, read, meditate and hike. That push me away from the hubbub. In the newspaper, read: "all set for the show of fireworks in Copacabana"; "Such Artist writes the Christmas special", "Choirs propagate their musicals". Human beings are obsessed with the show. However, the largest of which was not seen by many people.

Look what happened at the first Christmas. An Angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds and "the glory of the Lord shone around them" (verse 9). A multitude of angels appears singing. And the star, the Magi from afar? It was surprising. But there was more: these unusual events served to proclaim the show essential: the birth of Jesus, as we can read today. The Son of God came into the world as a baby. That's entertainment-as wonderful as humble. But in general the humility not charms, is not desired, goes completely unnoticed and, when seen in someone, almost always evaluates to hypocrisy, lack of attitude, low self-esteem, a characteristic that does not lead to anything and so on. That's not what we see?

As the same being that unites heaven and Earth, Angels and men, stars and scholars, which mobilizes beings impossible to be controlled by mortals is, at the same time, the baby born in a manger? This is your biggest performance: his humility. This important fact was not contemplated for many people not considered great for others. However, we appreciate it more than any Christmas presentation when we understand which started the Mission of Christ, who came into the world to die in our place (the greatest Act of love).
