Como você
reagiria se estivesse na tempestade narrada na leitura de hoje? Sente que essa
timidez e essa falta de fé poderiam facilmente acometer você também?
Acostumados ao mar da Galileia, aqueles pescadores literalmente se apavoram
diante da tempestade e diante do fato de Jesus estar dormindo! O que Jesus quis
dizer quando lhes criticou o pavor e a falta de fé? O que Jesus esperava que
fizessem? Jesus já havia dado ordens a inúmeras enfermidades e demônios na
presença dos seus discípulos. Mas alguém ter controle sobre o mar, sobre o
vento, sobre uma tempestade enfurecida! Que espécie de homem é esse? Esse tipo
de autoridade era novidade para eles. Perplexos, eles se perguntavam: “Quem é
este, que até o vento e o mar lhe obedecem?”
No salmo 59,
Davi está encurralado por inimigos que querem matá-lo. Diante do medo e do
risco de morrer, Davi recorre a Deus e confessa que ele é sua força, esperança
e alto refúgio! Percebe a diferença? Exatamente do meio do aperto e da
perplexidade, Davi escolhe confiar no Senhor. Por quê? Porque ele aprendeu a
enxergar Deus no meio de cada luta. Na verdade, foi exatamente no meio delas
que Deus foi se revelando e Davi aprendendo a conhecê-lo e a confiar nele.
Também a nós
Deus se revela a cada etapa da viagem. Conseguimos vê-lo? Ele não está
dormindo! Pode até parecer, mas não está. Seu comando é real, sua autoridade é
soberana. Ele se importa! Provou isso da maneira mais incontestável e
surpreendente: enviou seu Filho para morrer por nós e nos resgatar da morte
certa, não apenas nas tempestades dessa vida, mas da tormenta e tragédia
eternas!
Se você não
entregou seu barco, sua vida, tudo que é e tem ao Filho de Deus, que por você
se entregou, faça-o hoje. Se já o fez e está indo em frente com ele no barco,
não se cale. Conte dele aos outros que estão a naufragar pelos mares da vida.

com você. Pode confiar!

How
would you react if you were in the storm chronicled in reading today? Feels
that shyness and lack of faith could easily affect you too? Accustomed to the
sea of Galilee, those fishermen literally panic before the storm and on the
fact that Jesus be sleeping! What Jesus meant when he criticized them the fear
and the lack of faith? What Jesus expected to do? Jesus had already given
orders to numerous illnesses and demons in the presence of his disciples. But
someone having control over the sea, on the wind, about a raging storm! What
kind of man is this? This type of authority was news to them. Perplexed, they
wondered: "Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
In
Psalm 59, David is trapped by enemies who want to kill him. In the face of fear
and risk of dying, David refers to God and confesses that he is your strength,
hope and high tower. See the difference? Exactly the kind of grip and
perplexity, David chooses to trust in the Lord. Why? Because he learned how to
see God in the middle of each fight. In fact, it was exactly in the middle of
them that God was revealing and David learning to know him and trust him.
God
reveals himself to us every step of the journey. We can see it? He's not
asleep. May seem, but it's not. Your command is real, his authority is
sovereign. He cares! Proved that the most undeniable and amazing: sent his son
to die for us and rescue us from certain death, not just in the storms of this
life, but the storm and eternal tragedy!
If
you haven't turned in your boat, your life, all that is and has the son of God,
which you gave yourself away, do it today. If you've already done and is going
ahead with it on the boat, don't shut up. Tell him to others who are sinking
the seas of life.

God is in charge. He cares about you. You can trust!
